Sultry Saturdays kick off the weekend during Hot Summer Fun
There is no hotter place to party than in the Sun this summer. Mohegan Sun has some of the premier party spots in the

Beginning June 29th, Sultry Saturdays add to the Hot Summer Fun weekly line up, putting Mohegan Sun nightlife spots on display. A fourth season of Long Island Medium launched May 12th on TLC. The highly-rated show follows Theresa’s life as a typical Long Island wife and mom, except for one distinct difference…her ability to communicate with the dead. Since she cannot “turn off” this gift, messages can come through at any time and the local car mechanic, manicurist or cashier at the bagel shop may find themselves receiving a spontaneous reading from Theresa as she goes about her daily life. Virgil’s Mohegan Sun is Now Open!
Barbecue lovers rejoice! True southern barbecue has landed in Connecticut, just in time for summer. Virgil’s Real BBQ, a haven for barbecue fans throughout Manhattan for nearly a decade, brings together the varied barbecue styles of Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas and beyond. The opening of their third location, this time at Mohegan Sun, adds
another delicious destination for Virgil’s and barbecue aficionados.
Known for their warm service, Southern-style barbecue and festive atmosphere, Virgil’s celebrated the pre-grand opening by treating 1,000 lucky diners to a complimentary meal at the sprawling 225-seat space at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut (located in the upper level of The Shops concourse). Now open to the public for lunch and dinner, casino-goers, hotel patrons, and locals alike can enjoy something for everyone, including Virgil’s famous comfort-food favorites, smoked meats, and vegetarian dishes.
True barbecue through and through, Virgil’s smokes all of their meats at a low temperature over indirect heat for up to ten hours with a unique mix of hickory, oak and fruit woods in two massive twin Southern Pride Smokers, in order to impart the most flavor. In turn, 80% of Virgil’s menu has a smoked element to it, including the mouthwatering Carolina Pulled Pork, Memphis Style Pork Spare Ribs and Barbecue Shrimp. To complement their BBQ specialties, the restaurant also offers a generous selection of sides made from scratch, including their warm and dense Buttermilk Biscuits, Cheddar Cheese Grits, Hickory Pit Baked Beans, and mustard-laced Coleslaw. Barbecue-inspired sandwiches and salads such as the Southern Chicken Caesar Salad with roasted corn salsa and biscuit croutons and Sliced Texas Beef Brisket sandwich on a sesame bun are also menu favorites.
To wash it all down, Virgil’s beer list is about as comprehensive as they come. Sun’s nighttime pool party opens summer 2013 with Vinny Guadagnino and Clinton Sparks
The region’s only nighttime pool party is back at Mohegan Sun Thursdays and Saturdays this summer! On Thursday, May 30th, kick-off GLO at the Pool 2013 with a party featuring music by Clinton Sparks and a special appearance by Vinny Guadagnino of The Show with Vinny and Jersey Shore. The party begins at 10:00pm and the cover for the night
is $20.00.
Add some fuel to your summer nights with live DJs, fire pit, cabanas, dancers, two brand new blackjack tables and more all at GLO at the Pool where the cover charge on Thursdays will be $10.00 and $20.00 for Saturdays. Guests can access GLO at the Pool by taking the designated Mohegan Sun hotel elevator up to the third floor. Entry for ladies is free until 11:00pm on both Thursday and Saturday nights and if you check-in through social media, your entry fee is half off! “Once Upon A Dream Starring The Rascals” is a Rock concert and a Broadway show, a Rock N’ Soul dance party meets the Jersey Boys. In addition to the concert experience, the history of The Rascals and the history of the ‘60’s are told through their music (in fact, at thirty songs, the most comprehensive concert they’ve ever done), and dramaticized by a combination of narration, filmed scenes of actors acting out key moments in the band’s history, news footage and archival footage of the band.
There are elements of staging and light design never seen before, just as Marc Brickman has done in his previous groundbreaking work with Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Blue Man Group, the opening ceremony of the Olympics, and Roger Waters’ recent ‘The Wall’ tour.
The show debuted at the The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. The theater was uniquely qualified for this debut, as owner Peter Shapiro (Brooklyn Bowl, Wetlands, U2 3D) restored it to its 1926 magnificence while equipping it with a state of the art lighting, projection and sound system.

January 2013 marked four decades since Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, then members of a band called Wicked Lester, joined up with drummer Peter Criss and guitarist Ace Frehley to form KISS. Forty years later, having racked up 28 U.S. gold albums along with 40 million U.S. and 100 million in world sales, Simmons and Stanley, with longtime members guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer, return stronger than ever. Released through Universal Music Enterprises, Monster is the 20th studio album in their historic career.
The 12-song (plus bonus track), straight-ahead Rock ‘n’ Roll album features collaborations from all four members in an effort that shows KISS at the top of its game. Monster is the group’s first studio album since the band’s 2009 smash success Sonic Boom, and was also produced by Paul Stanley with Greg Collins at Conway Studios in Hollywood, CA, and The Nook in Studio City, CA. “We weren’t interested in making just a great KISS album, but a great Rock album that lived up to the bands we loved growing up,” explains Stanley, “the ones who got us to play music in the first place.”
