Seasonal festivities will include a 24-foot gingerbread house, holiday décor and a tree lighting ceremony
Mohegan Sun’s annual World of Holiday Marvels returns to bring holiday cheer, festivities and an array of entertainment to guests on Thursday, December 1st.
Mohegan Sun will kick off the holiday festivities at 6:00pm on The Shops concourse stage with a DJ spinning all the classic holiday tunes, ballerina dancers and a display of indoor pyrotechnics.
At 7:00pm, the sixth annual tree lighting ceremony will begin outside of Todd English’s Tuscany. Guests will be greeted with a few words from Mohegan Sun executives. Throughout The Shops at Mohegan Sun, they can enjoy the festivities as the celebration will be broadcast on large screens throughout the concourse.
Mohegan Sun’s holiday mainstay returns to The Shops at Mohegan Sun in the form of a 24-foot life-size gingerbread house. Created by Executive Pastry Chef Lynn Mansel and Mohegan Sun’s culinary team, this year’s house incorporates approximately 6,525 gingerbread bricks, four 7-foot soldiers made out of milk chocolate and Rice Krispies®, man-made icing, and white, dark and milk chocolate.
Visitors of all ages can walk through the house to view the tiny rooms inside filled with a standout stone fireplace made from gingerbread and dark icing grout, chocolate stockings, a holiday tree, a chocolate rocking chair and a chocolate glass with assorted cookies for Santa to enjoy. Topping off the house is a cupola and weathervane with four chocolate chefs.
From 6:00pm – 9:00pm, complimentary Cider, Hot Chocolate and Holiday Cookies will be available at the gingerbread house as well as a special photo opportunity with Santa for the children. Guests can drop off unwrapped presents to be donated to the Marine Toys for Tots or choose to make a 10.00 monetary donation from 5:00pm 9:00pm. Once they have shared, guests can celebrate their donation by snapping a family photo with the festive life-size Nutcrackers located in the Spring Gateway.
Throughout the property, Mohegan Sun has set up a variety of holiday decorations. Casino of the Earth features ornaments and illuminated wreaths measuring over ten feet tall. The Shops at Mohegan Sun will bring the picturesque New England winter indoors with oversized snow flurries, a giant wreath, custom-designed snowflakes suspended over iceberg islands and life-size nutcracker statues.

Actors to take part in exclusive signing on December 2nd as part of Diva Fridays Celebration

Bronson is best known for playing the shape-shifting Quileute teen Jared in the popular vampire saga, Twilight.
ABOUT CHARLIE: Charlie Bewley made his major motion picture debut as the Volturi vampire “Demetri” in The Twilight Saga: New Moon followed by Eclipse and appears in both parts of the forthcoming Breaking Dawn films. Bewley also co-stars in the critically acclaimed Sundance Grand Jury winner Like Crazy, an improvised piece which tells the captivating story of a British college student who falls for an American whilst studying abroad – a romance wrenched by separation when she’s banned from the U.S. Bewley also has a key lead in the Russian/US collaboration Soldiers of Fortune as well as voicing the charter of a dingo in the forthcoming animated feature Outback. Country music comes naturally for Aaron Lewis. In fact, the Staind frontman never strayed very far from Country. It’s something that he grew up with. It’s something that he comes back to. It’s something that inspires him. It’s something that’s in his blood. Hints of that are present in the stripped honesty and acoustic melodies of Staind hits such as “Outside,” “It’s Been Awhile” and “So Far Away.”
However, Lewis fully shows that spirit on his five-song Town Line debut solo release for Nashville-based R&J Records and most prevalently, via its first single, “Country Boy.” With a little help from legends Charlie Daniels and George Jones, Lewis tells his story like never before on the song. “Country Boy” serves as a fitting introduction to Town Line. Ms. Hill sang and deeply appreciated music at a young age; known for being very animated, she also acted, danced and enjoyed performance art of various kinds. She spent her formative years acting in plays and being cast in television commercials, as well as the daytime drama As the World Turns, Steven Soderbergh’s King of the Hill and Sister Act II with Whoopi Goldberg. Ironically all of this was done while she was still a full-time student. After graduating high school with stellar grades, she attended Columbia University in New York while a member of the then up-and-coming musical group the Fugees.
She would establish a reputation in the music world as the lone female member of the Fugees, whose record sales would make them the second biggest selling R&B act worldwide since Michael Jackson. She launched her solo career with the release of the commercially successful and critically acclaimed album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The recording earned a record breaking five Grammy Awards.

Montgomery Gentry has captured a large following with their “what you see is what you get” mentality. Mohegan Sun will provide a cornucopia of specials this Thanksgiving with delectable entrées and decadent desserts on Thursday, November 24th.
Todd English’s Tuscany will showcase a Sage–Brined Turkey along with Sausage Stuffing, Roasted Root Vegetables, Turkey Gravy, Grappa Cranberry Sauce and a Grilled Housemade Kielbasa. It will be paired with an Apple Pear Crisp with Cinnamon Gelato and a warm Caramel Sauce for dessert. This meal will be offered at $32.00 per person. Todd English’s Tuscany will serve a dinner menu throughout the day in lieu of their Tuscan Table and lunch menus from 1:00pm to 10:00pm.
Birches Bar & Grill will offer a customary Thanksgiving dinner that starts out with a choice of Soup Du Jour, Birches House Salad or a Classic Caesar Salad. The main course includes a Traditional Turkey Dinner consisting of white and dark meat, Apple Craisin Stuffing, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Chef’s Vegetables, Cranberry Sauce and Giblet Gravy. Dessert will feature a Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake with Cranberry Wine Compote and Spiced Whipped Cream. This meal is priced at $22.95 per person. Birches Bar & Grill will be open from 11:00am to 10:00pm.
Seasons Buffet will offer a variety of choices for Thanksgiving. Guests can start off their holiday meal with a creamy Butternut & Apple Bisque. Then feast on special dinner selections including Oven Roasted Dark Meat Turkey, Roasted Turkey Breast and Smoked Pork Loin. Featured sides include Mashed Potatoes, Sautéed Orange Glazed Carrots, Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables, Cornbread Stuffing, Mashed Sweet Potato Brûlée, Vegetable Rice Pilaf, Peas, Carrots and Pearl Onion Medley, Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon & Onions and a Turkey Gravy.
