UNCASVILLE, CT (May 22, 2024) ––Legends of the 80’s Rock scene hit the Mohegan Sun Arena stage for an 80’s Rock Tour featuring three of the genre’s favorite multiplatinum selling, internationally known artists including Lou Gramm, the original lead singer/founding member of Foreigner; Steve Augeri, former lead vocalist of Journey; and Asia featuring John Payne. The show kicks off on Friday, July 5th at 8:00pm.

80’s Rock Tour Lineup:
Lou Gramm
Lou Gramm was born in Rochester, New York, and began his musical career in his mid-teens, playing in local Rochester bands, including St. James Infirmary (later The Infirmary), and PHFFT. He later sang harmony vocals in another local band, Poor Heart. Gramm then went on to sing and play drums, and to eventually become front man for the band, Black Sheep.
Lou Gramm was the lead vocalist on all of Foreigner’s hit songs, including “Feels Like the First Time”, “Cold as Ice”, “Long, Long Way from Home”, “Hot Blooded”, “Double Vision”, “Blue Morning, Blue Day”, “Head Games”, “Dirty White Boy”, “Urgent”, “Juke Box Hero”, “Break It Up” and “Say You Will”. He co-wrote most of the songs for the band, which achieved two of its biggest hits with the ballads “Waiting for a Girl Like You”, which spent ten weeks at #2 on the 1981-82 American Hot 100, and “I Want to Know What Love Is”, which was a #1 hit internationally (US & UK) in 1985. Their first 8 singles cracked the Billboard Top 20, (4 went Top 10) making them the first group since the Beatles to achieve this in 1980.
Steve Augeri
Drawing on a range of diverse musical influences to deliver a unique take on the genre of melodic rock, Steve Augeri is an American Rock singer best known as the lead vocalist for the Rock group, Journey, from 1998 to 2006. Steve Augeri debuts with the seven times Platinum Armageddon sound track then on to record three albums during a successful eight-year tenure that brought one of the worlds most accomplished melodic Rock groups back to the stage for multiple world tours and millions of adoring fans.
Prior to Journey, Steve Augeri was a founding member of Epic recording artists Tall Stories. The group released their eponymous debut in 1992 and long-awaited follow-up Skyscraper in 2009. It was then on to Melodic Rock group Tyketto, with whom he recorded the 1970’s Retro flavored Shine album.
Asia featuring John Payne
John Payne became the frontman of the supergroup Asia in 1992. Asia extensively toured the world for the next 14 years performing new classics and old favorites. With John Payne fronting the band, Asia released eight stunning studio albums and several live recordings. His hits include “Heat of The Moment,” “Don’t Cry,” “Only Time Will Tell,” “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes,” “Go” and “Days Like These.”

Howie Mandel has remained a constant force in show business for more than 30 years. He can currently be seen on NBC’s flagship series America’s Got Talent where he has served as a judge for eleven seasons. He recently finished production on his new documentary Howie Mandel: But Enough About Me. Other recent projects include judging NBC’s America’s Got Talent: The Champions, CNBC’s Deal or No Deal where he served as executive producer and host and Nat Geo Wild’s Animals Doing Things where he co-hosted with his son Alex. He also executive produced the Quibi series Kirby Jenner. In 2019, he released his first solo special in 20 years Howie Mandel Presents Howie Mandel at the Howie Mandel Comedy Club.
In 2020, Howie teamed up with ePlay Digital Inc. and launched the charity, Breakout the Masks, and mobile game campaign to give back to those involved in the fight against COVID-19. Two live free shows Friday, May 31st
UNCASVILLE, CT (May 16 , 2024) – Mohegan Sun will be enshrining The Cartells as the latest group/individual inductee in the Wolf Den Hall of Fame prior to their upcoming double set of exciting, free, live shows at 8:00pm and 10:30pm on Friday, May 31st. Mohegan’s President of Sports & Entertainment, Tom Cantone, and representation from the Mohegan Tribe will take the stage early into the first show to present The Cartells with their latest accolade as Wolf Den Hall of Fame members. The band is the 15th member of Wolf Den Hall of Fame joining other notable acts such as Chubby Checker, Little Anthony & The Imperials, and Eddie Money. Since their debut in 2011, the veteran performers have appeared on the Wolf Den stage 42 times.
The Wolf Den Hall of Fame at Mohegan Sun is a select club that honors a certain class of performers whose exceptional talents and commitment have helped make Mohegan Sun a world-class entertainment destination. As some of our most celebrated performers, these artists have shown loyalty to fans at Mohegan Sun and have helped shape the Wolf Den into the successful venue it is today.

ABOUT THE CARTELLS:
The Cartells, a Mystic Connecticut based legacy rock band, have brought their versatile repertoire, including rock and roll, jazz, swing, R&B, and Motown to the concert stage, clubs and high-end events on the East Coast since their formation in April of 1986.
The founders of the band, Bill Holloman, Karin Barth Tyska, Joe Grieco and, Gary Stevens started as a four-piece vocals forward style group. Over the course of a career spanning 30 years, actor/comedian Cedric “The Entertainer” has solidified his status as one of the world’s premier performers on the stage, in film and on television.
Currently, Cedric is starring in and executive producing the CBS Television hit comedy “The Neighborhood,” hosting and executive producing “The Greatest #AtHome Videos,” executive producing the dramedy “Johnson” for Bounce TV, and recently executive produced and hosted the 73rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. He also appears co-starring in “The Last O.G.,” opposite Tracy Morgan and Tiffany Haddish, and is reprising his role as Uncle Bobby in Disney+’s “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” – the long-anticipated revival of the groundbreaking animated series “The Proud Family.” Cedric also won a 2023 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for “The Neighborhood.”

On Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th, celebrate the LGBTQ+ community with various fun-filled Pride activities including the Connecticut Sun Pride Game, Pride on the Sun Patio, Cocktails & Queens in The Cabaret Theatre, Pride @ Night and Drag Bingo Brunch Presented by Troupe429!
Connecticut Sun Pride Game| Mohegan Sun Arena | Saturday, June 8th | 1:00pm
The Connecticut Sun will host its Pride Game, presented by Jordan’s Furniture, against the New York Liberty. Fans can show their Pride, loud and proud, while enjoying a special halftime performance. The first 3,500 fans will receive a crossbody bag sponsored by Jordan’s Furniture. Pride will take over the newly renovated Sun Patio with local businesses and support organizations that highlight the LGBTQ+ community! DJ Gadget will keep the energy going with upbeat and energetic music throughout the day. From 3:30pm-4:30pm get ready to witness an electrifying lip sync battle hosted by Mohegan Digital that features Comix Kings and Queens! Kenya Mone Heart, who was crowned Queen of the Sun Patio in 2023, goes head-to-head against Mia E. Z’Lay, Ambrosia Black, Frankie Cyanide, and Arya Black before a special guest performance by The Darling Divas hosted by Ryan Leckey! Enjoy a variety of drink specials at the Sun Patio Bar and indulge in incredible food by Curb Your Appetite, Jayy’s, and Kona Ice. Pride on the Sun Patio is free to attend and open to all ages!

The drag kings and queens are ready to serve! Guests are invited to join Mohegan Sun for a Pride-filled night, with the finest drag performers in the country presenting the most fabulous drag show. Host Kenya Mone Heart will bring an extensive lineup of guest drag queens, headlined by Coco Montrese from RuPaul’s Drag Race and featuring Ivanna, Moxie Angel, and Xiomarie LaBeija!
Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend Cocktails & Queens.
