Something For the Rest of Us, the band’s ninth album and first since 2006’s gold-selling Let Love In, is due in stores later this spring. The group recorded the new studio effort in their hometown of Buffalo, NY and in Los Angeles. Producers Tim Palmer (U2, Switchfoot) and Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Paramore) were brought in to assist on the sessions, along with mixer Mike “Spike” Stent (Radiohead, Dave Matthews Band).
Switchfoot is touring in support of their recently-released seventh studio album, Hello Hurricane. The album–the group’s first on their own lowercase people records–hit stores late last year. Hello Hurricane follows Switchfoot’s 2006 release, Oh! Gravity., which peaked at #18 on The Billboard 200.
The Spill Canvas’ most recent full-length studio effort, No Really, I’m Fine, surfaced in 2007. The set was re-released in 2008 by Sire Records as a double-vinyl package featuring the rarities collection Scraps on the second disc.

Deftones and Mastodon round out triple bill
This fall, Alice In Chains will be joined by special guests Deftones and Mastodon on BLACKDIAMONDSKYE, a
monolithic triple bill that is guaranteed to be the hottest ticket of the fall touring season. The tour will be stopping at Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday, September 20th at 7:00pm.
Tickets are $45.00 and go on sale Saturday, May 22nd at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log onto ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge by Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Sunday, May 23rd, subject to availability.
Multi-platinum-selling headliners Alice In Chains are touring in support of Black Gives Way To Blue (Virgin/EMI), which was named “Album of the Year” at the recent Revolver Golden Gods Award show. Fueled by the Grammy-nominated smash “Check My Brain,” which rocketed to #1 on the Billboard Rock Songs chart, Black Gives Way To Blue entered Billboard’s Top 200 at #5. They maintained momentum with follow-up hit “Your Decision,” which also hit #1 on the Rock Songs chart, along with a string of sold- out headlining tours around the world. The album has also been drawing rave reviews from fans and critics alike: Playboy gave it four stars, calling it “Alice In Chains’ Back In Black.” The Boston Globe wrote “Alice In Chains is back in business and business is good,” Metal Hammer said, “Alice In Chains are back and every bit as exciting and heavy” and a Guitar World magazine readers poll voted Black Gives Way To Blue “Rock Album of the Year.”
Deftones, one of the most enduring and influential forces in modern Rock, released the long–awaited new album Diamond Eyes earlier this month. The sixth full-length studio effort by the Grammy-winning, platinum-certified group was produced and mixed by Nick Raskulinecz (Alice in Chains, Coheed & Cambria, Foo Fighters). The band recorded the album after their best friend and bassist Chi Cheng sustained a debilitating brain injury from a car accident in November of 2008. “After Chi’s accident, it would have been easy for us to make a sad record,” says singer and guitarist Chino Moreno. “But really, this is an optimistic record.” MySpace.com recently premiered a brand-new video for lead single “Diamond Eyes,” which was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Roboshobo (Metallica, Mastodon, B-52s). Prior to hitting the road on BlackDiamondSkye, Deftones will play a string of U.S. shows, followed by dates overseas.
Globally-celebrated and critically-revered Hard Rock masterminds Mastodon have created one of the most daring and praised albums in recent years with their current and fifth full-length effort Crack the Skye, which entered the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at #11. Following a spate of late night TV appearances and a pair of groundbreaking Roboshobo-directed videos, the band toured the world non-stop following the album’s March 2009 release. Crack the Skye placed on numerous “Year End / Best of 2009” critics lists and readers polls, including an impressive #8 entry on the prestigious Village Voice Annual Pazz & Jop Critics Poll’s “Top 25 Albums of 2009” list. Time magazine placed it third on its list of the top ten “Best Albums of 2009,” writing, “Thunderous, disciplined and expansive…the ambition and tenacity of Mastodon’s music makes Crack The Skye sonically unforgettable.” In recent months Mastodon has performed on their own, co-headlined with Dethklok and toured Europe and Latin America with Metallica, further expanding their notoriety as a peerless live force of nature.

Highly-anticipated third album produced by studio legend Robert John “Mutt” Lange set for release on September 21st
Grammy-winning recording artist Maroon 5 is back with their highly-anticipated third studio album, Hands All Over
(A&M/Octone), set for release on September 21st. Produced by Rock studio legend Robert John “Mutt” Lange (AC/DC, Def Leppard, The Cars), Hands All Over is a killer hybrid of Rock, Pop, Funk and R&B. In addition, the album’s first single will impact radio on June 28th. Following the release of the single, Maroon 5 has announced plans for a summer concert tour that will rock Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, August 1st at 7:00pm with special guests Guster and Ry Cuming.
Tickets are $65.00 and $45.00 and go on sale Friday, May 14th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log onto ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge by Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, May 15th, subject to availability.
Maroon 5 began writing the songs that appear on Hands All Over after winding down from a world tour in support of their 2007 studio release It Won’t Be Soon Before Long. Several months later, the band received a phone call from Lange, who heard that the band was beginning to write a new album, and expressed an interest in producing it.
“We didn’t even talk to anyone else,” Adam Levine, Maroon 5’s frontman says. “Mutt is undeniably one of the most successful producers who’s ever lived.”
Jesse Carmichael, the band’s keyboardist, added, “Mutt really helped us play to the best of our ability. And it drove us to be bigger and better than ever.”
The result is Hands All Over, a monumental record chock full of buoyant, unforgettable melodies. Recorded at Lange’s Switzerland studio, the members of Maroon 5 locked themselves in the mountains to patiently craft their latest effort. Starting with the hard-rocking title track, the album’s fifteen tracks take several intoxicating twists and turns including such compositions as “Out of Goodbyes,” a stunning Country ballad infused with musical and vocal contributions from Nashville chart-toppers Lady Antebellum. Long-time fans will get a thrill out of “Misery,” with its funky guitars and high-stepping melody, as well as the propulsive “Stutter,” melody rich “Give A Little More” and “Don’t Know Much About That,” which professes a classic soulful vibe.
Guster continues to back 2006’s Ganging Up on the Sun, along with an eight-song EP from 2007, Satellite, which comprises live cuts and new recordings. The group, which has been in the studio working on a still-untitled new album, will release its next studio set on Aware/Columbia after recording its last two albums for the Reprise label. According to a recent Billboard article, the band has purchased carbon credits to offset the environmental impact of recording and distributing the forthcoming album.
Mohegan Sun Arena is ranked the 4th best venue by Billboard Magazine and was the 2008 recipient of a Country Music Award for “Casino of The Year.” For more information on concerts and other great events at Mohegan Sun, visit mohegansun.com.
