The international Irish music phenomenon, Celtic Woman, returns to U.S. shores this fall for the second leg

Weekend festivities feature culinary events, seminars and the Grand Tasting at Mohegan Sun on January 30 and 31, 2010
SUN WINEFEST, New England’s most spectacular wine and food event, returns to Mohegan Sun Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, January 31, 2010.
The weekend’s main event is the Grand Tasting, which will be held in the Convention Center from 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, January 31st. Sample more than 1,000 fine wines provided by international wineries and specialty beers from breweries and beer companies from around the world. Exhibitors showcasing related services such as wine storage, culinary accessories and specialty foods will also be featured. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions, hear commentary from the winemakers and experts, and enjoy delicacies from some of the region’s finest restaurants by purchasing tasting portions of signature dishes at a nominal rate.

Special celebration September 6th to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) before MDA Telethon
UNCASVILLE, CT – “Party With A Purpose” at Mohegan Sun this coming Sunday, September 6th, to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The event being held in the Uncas Ballroom kicks off at 7:30pm with cocktails followed by a delicious dinner prepared by Mohegan Sun’s world-class chefs. The evening continues with live entertainment, plus silent and live auctions followed by the live broadcast of the 2009 MDA Telethon.
World-famous artist Charles Fazzino will be in attendance to unveil a special piece of art designed for Mohegan Sun to support the MDA. Taylor Swift celebrates a sold-out show by adding her star to the roster of entertainers who have performed at Mohegan Sun
Mohegan Sun is pleased to announce that one of the queens of Country, Taylor Swift, has joined the list of 
top-tier entertainers who have become a part of the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame. Her induction took place Friday, August 28th in the forecourt of the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Accepting her honor before a very large crowd of excited fans, a grinning Swift said, “This is the best start to my day ever! Thank you all so much for being here, I can’t wait to have a blast with you guys tonight!”
Swift’s first two performances at Mohegan Sun took place in 2007 where she was the opener for George Strait during his two-night stand in the Arena on April 26th & 27th. Connecticut celebrities compete to benefit Mothers Against Drunk Driving at Mohegan September 30th
Uncasville, CT — Eleven Connecticut celebrities will lace up their dancing shoes and hit the floor at Mohegan Sun on Wednesday, September 30th to help raise awareness and funds for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). Teaming up with WCTY and Arthur Murray Dance Studio, Mohegan Sun will host a one-night-only “MADD About Dancing” competition in The Cabaret Theatre featuring a special vocal performance by special guest Julianne Hough from Dancing with the Stars.
Doors to The Cabaret Theatre will open at 7:00pm where guests will have the opportunity to enjoy hand-passed hors d’oeuvres and participate in a silent auction featuring Steiner Sports memorabilia among other items before the celebrities take the stage at 7:30pm with their professional dance partners.
The group of celebrities includes: Bruce “Two Dogs” Bozsum, the Chairman of the Mohegan Tribe; Miss Connecticut’s “Outstanding Teen” Acacia Courtney; Country recording artist Billy Gilman; NBC Connecticut anchor Brad Drazen; WCTY’s Morning Show co-host Jimmy Lane; Connecticut State Police Lieutenant Paul Vance; State of Connecticut Comptroller Nancy Wyman; Fox 61 Morning personality Rachel Lutzker; 2009 Miss Connecticut Sharalyn Kuziak; UConn women’s basketball assistant coach Shea Ralph; and Country singer Stephanie Hansen.
For the competition, each celebrity will be paired with a professional dance partner from Arthur Murray Dance Studio and will perform two short routines, including a foxtrot and a swing performance. Professional dance expos and a special appearance by Julianne Hough from Dancing with the Stars will round out the event. Julianne, who is playing in Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den earlier that evening, will perform a few songs off her latest CD in The Cabaret Theatre for guests.
Tickets to “MADD About Dancing” are $50.00 per person and benefit Mother’s Against Drunk Driving.
