TerrifiCON Brings Big Time Comic Con Fun to Mohegan Sun

From August 16th to 18th comics and their creators, actors from superhero, sci-fi, horror shows and films will be at Mohegan Sun! 

TerrifiCON, Connecticut’s #1 comic book convention, returns on Friday August 16th, taking place once again at Mohegan Sun. This popular Comic-Con event is action-packed for three full days of super- powered awesomeness. Tickets are available at mohegansun.com and TerrifiCON is being held inside the 125,000 square-foot Earth Expo & Convention Center at Mohegan Sun.  

Star-Studded Lineup  

TerrifiCON 2024 is bringing no shortage of special guests and TV stars. Kicking off at 1:30pm on Friday, August 16th, guests will have the special opportunity to meet stars from classic superhero TV shows and films, including Michael Rooker– best known for his role as Merle Dixon from the AMC hit series The Walking Dead and Yondu Udonta from Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. Keeping with the theme of stars from renowned television shows, TerrifiCON will also feature Joe Pantoliano who portrayed soldier and eventual capo Ralph Cifaretto from HBO’s Sopranos, Martin Kove who played the main antagonist, Jonh Kreese from the Karate Kid trilogy and series sequel Cobra Kai, Cobie Smulders who played the beloved Robin Scherbatsky from the CBS sitcom How I met Your mother, Eduardo Franco who played the role of Argyle from Netflix hit series Stranger Things, and Erik Estrada with partner Larry Wilcox from the 80’s crime television series, Chips.  A conglomerate of actors across a widespread range of Star Trek films and series, consisting of Star Trek; Films 1-7, Deep Space Nine, Strange New Threads, New Worlds, Discovery, and Picard will be joining the event including: Nana Visitor, Armin Shimerman, Andrew Robinson, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, and Stephanie Czajkowski.  Finishing off on August 18th, Marvels own Daredevil star Charlie Cox will make his Sunday only appearance. 

New England’s Largest Comic Creator Guest List 
Taking full advantage of the spacious Earth Expo Center, TerrifiCON producer Mitch Hallock has assembled a massive gathering of comic book creators of today’s hottest titles to epic tales of yesteryear. The guest list of comic book artists and writers will be the largest In New England and includes current DC Comics CFO, Jim Lee, where fans will have the chance to pre order an exclusive autograph session during the event.

Guinness World Record Attempt
TERRIFICON will be attempting to set a Guinness World Record® for “Most Contributions to a Greetings Card” at this year’s event at Mohegan Sun. This won’t be an ordinary greeting card, it will be a super-sized birthday card measuring 5 feet tall and 24 feet long featuring art by legendary artist Jerry Ordway and celebrating Superman’s 80th anniversary! Comic book fans can be part of the record setting attempt by signing the giant card that will be on display at TERRIFICON!

Aw Yeah Fun Zone and CTGamer Arena
TERRIFICON is more than a comic con, its several conventions in one, with the addition of two new areas at this August’s event dedicated to fun and games. AW YEAH COMICS creators, and award-winning writer and artist team, Franco and Art Balatzar, will be organizing the entire 20,000 square foot Earth Ballroom with arts, crafts, robotics, workshops, puppetry and even live music from the kids’ band “School of Rock.” The AW YEAH FUN ZONE runs all three days at TERRIFICON, taking place inside the Earth Ballroom.

Microsoft and Game Underground will take over several rooms and provide a CTGAMER con with video game tournaments with games such as FortNite, Injustice, Smash Brothers and MarioKart. For those who prefer tabletop games, there will be Magic the Gathering and Warhammer matches presented by Dragon’s Lair.

TerrifiCon Brings Superheroes To Mohegan Sun For Comic Con Fun

UNCASVILLE, CT (July 20, 2017) – Actors from today’s hottest shows and movies descend onto Mohegan Sun on August 18th – 20th for the Northeast’s hottest comic con. Fans of superheroes don’t have to travel to San Diego for comic con action; they can get their fill right here in Connecticut when TerrifiCon returns this August inside Mohegan Sun’s Convention Center!
Stars from Guardians of the GalaxyGame of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Flash, Arrow and Gotham are headed for Mohegan Sun as Connecticut’s terrific comic con returns for three days of fan fun. There will be stars of today’s hottest shows and movies alongside the top comic book artists and writers from Marvel and DC Comics in attendance as fans get their geek on.

Recently added to the superstar lineup is Connecticut native, actor Will Friedle, who starred in the smash hit Boy Meets World and is also the voice talent in shows like Transformers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Kim Possible and Batman Beyond. Speaking of Batman, this year’s TerrifiCon is dedicated to the memory of actor Adam West who was scheduled to make his final appearance at this year’s show, but unfortunately passed away on June 9th. Co-stars Burt Ward who played Robin, and former Miss America, actress Lee Meriwether, who played Catwoman will be on hand to meet fans and talk about their late co-star. Friedle joins actors Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick who starred in Game of Thrones and now appear in the Marvel Netflix TV series Iron Fist and The Defenders.

TERRIFICON, once again produced by Connecticut-based firm, Big Fedora Marketing, which has been bringing Pop culture to the Nutmeg State since 2012 (TERRIFICON, CT GamerCon), promises this will be their most thrill-packed event ever. The three-day event will feature guests such as Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick from HBO’s Game of Thrones, Marvel Comics Iron First and Marvel’s soon-to-be-released The Defenders, which debuts on Netflix on August 18th.
TERRIFICON is also a celebration of the people who bring fans’ favorite superheroes like Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Batman, Captain America and hundreds of others to life in the pages of comic books. Fans can meet legendary artists and writers like former Marvel Editor-in-Chief, creator of Iron First, Ms. Marvel and Ultron, Roy Thomas. Thomas will be joined by artist Howard Chaykin who worked with Thomas on the Star Wars comic book in 1977. The two creators will be together for the first time on stage to discuss the Star Wars comic book, which is said to be the book that saved Marvel comics.

This year’s TERRIFICON will be the largest gathering of comic book creators in Connecticut history, including a first-ever CT appearance by today’s hottest Batman team, including writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo – rock stars in the comic book industry! TERRIFICON at Mohegan Sun will also feature Batman TV-series actor Burt Ward (Robin) and former Miss America, actress Lee Meriwether, who portrayed the Catwoman in the 1966 Batman theatrical movie. Ward and Meriwether will take part in a special tribute on Saturday night to honor their costar, cherished actor Adam West, who was scheduled to be TERRIFICON’s guest of honor, but who sadly passed away from leukemia on June 9th at the age of 88. This year’s comic convention will be dedicated to Mr. West’s memory and fans can pay their respects, share memories and see classic Batman vehicles on display, such as the 1966 Batmobile, Batcycle and Batboat, and for the first time ever in Connecticut the actual Batcopter.
