WHAT: The all-new 11,000 square foot multi-level
Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook will host a Grand Opening celebration, open to the public, on Saturday, March 5th from 7:00pm – 10:00pm. This Grand Opening party will be a star studded affair, bringing together the world-renowned ring announcer, Michael Buffer, former Heavyweight champion, Larry Holmes, former New England Patriot linemen, Max “Big Country” Lane and Dan Koppen as well as stand-out NFL wide receiver Chris Hogan, who played on the championship winning 2017 New England Patriots.
A special parade is also set to kick the festivities off, traveling from Sky Tower hotel lobby to the new sportsbook, beginning at 6:30pm. At 7:00pm, a champagne toast MC’d by Michael Buffer, alongside officials from Mohegan Sun and FanDuel, will take place to officially launch the Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook, which also just opened a full drink + dining menu and a high stakes Race Book section. “Back of House Season 5 – Reinventing the Future!” is a digital series filmed behind the scenes following 10 industry professionals as they offer viewers a peek behind the curtain into the magic of Mohegan Sun. - Episode 1: A Delicious Collaboration

Follow cast members, Jeff, Chris, and the construction team as they set to transform one of the resorts most sought out real estate locations into one of the hottest new restaurants in the Northeast.
- Episode 2: Bubbleville Part 1
As the pandemic continued on and the award-winning Mohegan Sun Arena remained closed to fans, the Mohegan Sun marketing and entertainment teams developed a slam dunk partnership with the NCAA to host the NCAA college basketball tournament in a “bubble.” The team quickly kicks into high gear to set the standard for health and safety protocols during this national event. The cast works to navigate uncharted waters with last minute changes and continued pandemic challenges, getting ready for the arrival of over 30 basketball teams.
- Episode 3: Bubbleville Part 2
With the colleges beginning to roll in, the event security team faces new hurdles as they persevere getting every team through state-of-the-art safety and health protocols. Then, it’s all hands-on deck as the banquets team works to feed all the teams, while the Arena and Expo Center have both been transformed into giant TV studios and practice facilities. Throughout this unique story, the cast reflects on the hard work, challenges and successes of welcoming college basketball back to the court.
Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) team members head out to Las Vegas as they collaborate with Virgin Hotels to transform a tired, old casino into one of Sin’s-City’s most anticipated new resorts. Both the Vegas and Connecticut teams come together to produce Mohegan Sun magic as the doors to this one-of-a-kind, and first ever Tribal casino resort, open to the public in Las Vegas for the very first time.
- Episode 5: Live Music Is Back
There is a buzz around property, and that means only one thing: a sold-out show in the award-winning Mohegan Sun Arena! With the return of live music, Mohegan Sun welcomes back renowned music group, Lady A, and thousands of fans to the first full capacity show in a very long time. The entire entertainment team has been counting down the days until this moment, as Lady A takes the stage at one of the world’s top arenas. - Episode 6: A Sure-Fire Bet

Fans Excited to Return for Major Sports & Shows

among the top entertainment venues worldwide according to Billboard Magazine, Pollstar and others, was excited this past weeknd to welcome back fans with return of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun, who are currently 2-0 and led by DeWanna Bonner and Jonquel Jones. Mohegan Sun Arena’s first public concert since winter 2020 is also scheduled, when Soft-Rock duo, Air Supply, plays on Sunday, July 18th. More exciting upcoming concerts planned in Mohegan Sun Arena include Lady A on July 29th, Dustin Lynch on August 5th, Straight No Chaser on August 8th, Deftones on August 21st, Tom Segura on August 27th, Toby Keith on September 3rd and back-to-back Sebastian Maniscalco dates on October 1st and 2nd. Mohegan Sun Arena was named “Innovator of the Year” by Celebrity Access in part due to the transformation that Mohegan Sun Arena underwent during much of the pandemic, becoming a broadcast residency center for sports including MMA, Boxing and College Basketball. ViacomCBS and Mohegan Sun partnered to host the most championship MMA (Bellator) and Boxing fights ever held at a venue in one year, seen by millions around the world. This partnership is also currently the longest running residency in the US. Just before Mohegan Sun’s temporary closure related to the pandemic last year, Bellator MMA was the last public sporting event held in Mohegan Sun Arena. On Friday, June 11th, they are now planned to be the first to welcome back fans, in limited fashion, when Douglas Lima defends his title against the undefeated and #1 ranked Yaroslav Amosov. This fight will also be on SHOWTIME. A Hall of Fame Tip-Off NCAA Tournament is also being planned at Mohegan Sun Arena for the start of College Basketball later this year. North Carolina, Villanova, Purdue and Tennessee are expected headliners.

This past weekend, Mohegan Sun also successfully hosted the nationally televised Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend, celebrating the class of 2020. The likes of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Julius “Dr. J” Erving and other legends were on hand Saturday, May 15th, for the Enshrinement Ceremony inside Mohegan Sun Arena, which hosted 2,000 socially distanced fans. A traditional Lion Dance took place today outside of Mohegan Sun’s Sky Tower in celebration of the 2021 Lunar New Year
UNCASVILLE, CT (February 12, 2021) – Mohegan Sun celebrates the Lunar New 
Year every year with a traditional Lion Dance, which has long represented the exorcising of evil spirits and the summoning of luck and fortune. This year, the ceremony took place outdoors at Sky Tower valet, and playing key roles in the celebration were both Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) and Mohegan Sun executives. Calvin Chin’s Martial Arts Academy performed the incredible Lion Dance, which culminated with a firecracker display.
The ceremony was more limited than in year’s past to ensure a safe environment. The outdoor event was led by VP of Asian and Far East Marketing, Kelly Leung and Director of Asian Communication, Cindy Liu and remarks were also made by both Ray Pineault, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of MGE and Jeff Hamilton, President & General Manager of Mohegan Sun.
“It’s great to still be able to celebrate the Lunar New Year – the Year of the Ox – here at Mohegan Sun today.” –said Jeff Hamilton. “We want to thank all of our friends and partners who are here to celebrate with us and we’re really excited about what next year has in store. We hope it will be very prosperous for Mohegan Sun.”
Part of that excitement for 2021 includes the all-new TAO Asian Bistro, which Hamilton also mentioned in his remarks. This 10,000 square-foot bistro and lounge, located steps from Sky Tower hotel, is planned to open soon.
The ceremony culminated with a spectacular lighting of firecrackers hung outside the entrance of Sky Tower. In traditional Chinese culture, firecrackers were originally used to scare away the evil spirits by its explosive noise.
The Lunar New Year is also being celebrated this weekend throughout Mohegan Sun. Beginning today, the restaurant Phantasia, located in Sunrise Square and inspired by southeast Asian cuisine, celebrates the Lunar New Year with a special menu that will last through Friday, February 26th. Highlights include delicious lobster, fish and fried chicken dishes. Over at both Jasper White’s Summer Shack and Sushi Koya, a special Red Envelope Giveaway is currently taking place, where the first 200 dine-in guests will receive an envelope with discounts and free items, including appetizers and special entrées.

For the third year running, MGE’s flagship property Mohegan Sun, the East Coast’s premier int
egrated resort destination, was voted “Best Casino Hotel,” in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, receiving the number one spot in the category, along with top rankings in “Best Casino Outside of Las Vegas“ and “Best Player’s Club” for its Momentum Rewards Program. Additionally, MGE-operated Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City was recognized for its on-property restaurant, Capriccio, which earned the number one spot for “Best Casino Restaurant.”
Nominees for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards were selected by a panel of experts, including editors from both USA Today and 10Best.com, as well as relevant expert contributors. This year’s list of nominees featured some of the most well-known casino and resorts in the United States. Readers voted over a span of four weeks on their favorite choices in each category.
