“The King of Partying” will perform a special DJ set at Black Sabbath’s Mohegan Sun Arena concert on August 8th
It was announced today that Andrew W.K. will be joining Black Sabbath on the band’s upcoming North American Tour. The King of Partying will perform a special DJ set every night, including Mohegan Sun Arena’s August 8th show before the definitive Heavy Metal band takes the stage. Speaking on being chosen for such a prestigious bill, W.K. said:
“I’m just shocked. It’s just the most incredible dream come true! I remember when the phone first rang and they told me that Black Sabbath wanted me to be their exclusive opening act. I was really in a state of disbelief – almost sick with amazement and excitement. It took about 3 days until I fully mastered the reality of this opportunity and realized it was really going to happen. Black Sabbath’s music changed my life, and this tour will change my life all over again. I couldn’t be more thankful or humbled by this one-in-a-billion miracle. What an adventure this will be!”
2013 has certainly been shaping up to be a legendary year for Andrew W.K. Most recently, he joined Punk drumming icon Marky Ramone as the singer for his Blitzkrieg band on a world tour. Performing over 30 fan-favorite tunes per night, Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg kicked off its world tour at W.K.’s own Santos Party House in NYC this spring, followed by a European run. In the months ahead, W.K. and Blitzkrieg will play several European festivals this summer before their U.S. tour dates in the fall.

Star of TLC’s Long Island Medium will be Live at Mohegan Sun Arena on August 11th; Tickets on sale Friday, June 7th at 10:00am
Theresa Caputo, psychic medium and star of the hit TLC show, Long Island Medium, will be appearing live at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, August 11th at 7:00pm. A fourth season of Long Island Medium launched May 12th on TLC. The highly-rated show follows Theresa’s life as a typical Long Island wife and mom, except for one distinct difference…her ability to communicate with the dead. Since she cannot “turn off” this gift, messages can come through at any time and the local car mechanic, manicurist or cashier at the bagel shop may find themselves receiving a spontaneous reading from Theresa as she goes about her daily life. UNCASVILLE, CT (May 13, 2013) — Following a critically acclaimed, sold out Broadway run, “Once Upon A Dream Starring The Rascals” takes on Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, August 30th for an 8:00pm show. Playing together for the first time in 40 years, “Once Upon A Dream Starring The Rascals” is produced and directed by Steven Van Zandt and lighting/projection wizard Marc Brickman. The show is completely original in its concept, a BioConcert.

“Once Upon A Dream Starring The Rascals” is a Rock concert and a Broadway show, a Rock N’ Soul dance party meets the Jersey Boys. In addition to the concert experience, the history of The Rascals and the history of the ‘60’s are told through their music (in fact, at thirty songs, the most comprehensive concert they’ve ever done), and dramaticized by a combination of narration, filmed scenes of actors acting out key moments in the band’s history, news footage and archival footage of the band.
There are elements of staging and light design never seen before, just as Marc Brickman has done in his previous groundbreaking work with Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Blue Man Group, the opening ceremony of the Olympics, and Roger Waters’ recent ‘The Wall’ tour.
The show debuted at the The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. The theater was uniquely qualified for this debut, as owner Peter Shapiro (Brooklyn Bowl, Wetlands, U2 3D) restored it to its 1926 magnificence while equipping it with a state of the art lighting, projection and sound system.

What: One of Rock & Roll’s all-time powerhouse bands will be taking part in a special Walk of Fame ceremony outside the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Mötley Crüe will have a star placed alongside some of Mohegan Sun Arena’s most beloved talents, some of which include Bon Jovi, KISS, Rod Stewart, Toby Keith and Taylor Swift. Their upcoming show marks Mötley Crüe’s third performance at Mohegan Sun Arena and they will also become the 25th entertainer inducted into the Walk of Fame.
