The 6th Annual Sun BBQ Fest Returns on June 2nd & 3rd, Rain or Shine
UNCASVILLE, CT (April 6, 2018) – It’s time to get messy at Sun BBQ Fest presented by King’s Hawaiian, Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 3rd at Mohegan Sun. Festival goers will be able to sink their teeth into barbecue-smothered favorites, full plate meals, ribs, wings and more! Live music and cooking challenges will also take place throughout the weekend for the whole family to enjoy.
Admission is $5.00 per day and now on sale through the Mohegan Sun Box Office or available at the festival door. Kids 6 and under get in free. The weekend of the event, $1.00 tickets for food and beverage will be available inside the festival.
Grills Heated Up – Wings, Ribs & More
The Winter Parking Lot will be smokin’ with the best BBQ for guests to sink their teeth into. Experience the BBQ action and decide who reigns supreme during the People’s Choice Contest all weekend long. $2.00 samples will be available from 20 participating Kansas City BBQ Society teams, and guests can cast their vote for the ultimate best at Sun BBQ Fest. On Saturday, the competition continues with a rib contest from Noon to 2:30pm, followed by a wing challenge from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. For $5.00, each contest offers a sampling of 5 wings or 5 ribs for fans to indulge and then judge. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Sun BBQ Fest official charity, Operation BBQ Relief.
BBQ Fest goers can taste their way through an endless supply of delicious meats and other flavorful options, all from some of the best restaurants and food vendors that can be found in the region. Wash it all down with a refreshing selection of beers that include Bud, Bud Light and Samuel Adams. Tito’s cocktails will also be offered for $7.00 – the perfect pairings for BBQ on a hot summer day!

Ever wonder how the pros make it look so easy? Here is your chance to learn the tricks of the trade right from celebrity chef Myron Mixon, “the winningest man in barbecue” and four – time Barbecue World Champion. On Saturday, June 2nd at 1:00pm and 3:00pm he will perform cooking demonstrations.
Be entertained all weekend long with live music on the main stage that will be providing the beats for this can’t-miss parking lot party. End Saturday night with a bang! – The spectacular fireworks display will be set to kick off at 9:15pm and guaranteed to be fun for the whole family.

Oakland Soul, R&B, Funk and Jazz greats to perform and be placed alongside Wolf Den’s best with special ceremony
UNCASVILLE, CT (March 16, 2015) – Mohegan Sun is proud to announce that the next Wolf Den Hall of Fame inductee will be none other than the legendary Tower Of Power. The Oakland, CA band will be live in concert on Saturday, April 18th at Mohegan Sun. The longtime Wolf Den performers will kick off at 8:00pm and early into the show, Senior VP of Sports & Entertainment, Tom Cantone, along with Mohegan Tribal Chairman, Kevin Brown, will take the stage to present Tower of Power with their well-deserved Wolf Den Hall of Fame honor.
About Tower of Power:
Tower of Power’s musical odyssey began in 1968 when tenor saxophonist/vocalist Emilio Castillo met baritone sax player Stephen “Doc” Kupka in July of that year. Originally named The Motown’s, the guys paid homage to the R&B sound that influenced them while adding their own personal twist. In 1970, the now renamed Tower of Power landed its first record deal with Bill Graham’s San Francisco Records. Their next album, Bump City, was recorded on Warner Brothers and produced a string of hits giving the band its first national exposure. At least 60 talented musicians have toured or recorded with the band in its 47 years and they have been featured with artists as diverse as Aerosmith, Elton John, Little Feat, Phish, Santana, Heart and many others, forever infusing the radio airwaves with Tower’s musical DNA.
