Joey Kramer Hosts Winning Authors Event At Mohegan Sun

The drummer for Aerosmith takes part in a live discussion and book signing on November 14th for his new autobiography Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top
Mohegan Sun’s Winning Authors welcomes Joey Kramer, the legendary drummer from one of the most successful Hit Hardbands in America, Aerosmith.  Joey Kramer will host a live discussion on Saturday, November 14th in The Cabaret Theatre at 2:00pm followed by a book signing in The Shops at Mohegan Sun, at 3:00pm for his new autobiography Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top.
In 1997, amidst Aerosmith’s sold out world tour and #1 album release, Joey revealed in an interview his ongoing struggles with depression. The response from fans and people battling those same internal demons was overwhelming. Joey, who has been the drummer of Aerosmith since it was founded in 1970 and the first member of the band to release his own book, now tells the complete story: the early days of the band, glamorous drug-addled events leading up to their eventual sobriety, battles within his family and among bandmates and the explosive internal dynamics in Aerosmith that continue to unleash a fury of endless creativity.
This is not just another Rock & Roll memoir. In addition to the never-before-told Aerosmith war stories that abound in the book, Hit Hard unpacks the history of a Rock star who was both fragile and tough, who after years of insane wildness became willing to accept help and finally kick a serious alcohol and drug addiction, only to find that the real terrors and hard work were still ahead. It’s the story of an average kid from an average American suburb who went through physical and emotional trauma. It’s about years of depression and the nervous breakdown at the height of the band’s comeback success. Ultimately, it is about how Joey recognized his confusion between love and abuse, awakening to the kind of self-acceptance and compassion that makes healthy relationships possible in the “real world.”
Joey Kramer has been rocking with Aerosmith since the band began in 1970. Kramer and his partners have sold over 150 million albums, and today their multigenerational, global audience is bigger than ever. In addition to the Grammys and the twenty-one multi-platinum albums, Aerosmith was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. The band has been the subject of several documentaries, including a film dedicated to Joey Kramer and his lasting influence called It’s About Time. Visit the author online at www.joeykramer.com.

Espionage author Christopher Reich hosts an open forum on Wednesday, August 5th to discuss his latest novel, Rules of Vengeance

Mohegan Sun’s “Winning Authors” series is proud to present New York Times best-selling author Christopher Reich.  The International Thriller Writers Award recipient will host a live discussion on Wednesday, August 5th in The Cabaret Theatre at 6:30pm to be followed by a book signing in the Spring Gateway in The Shops concourse at 7:30pm.

Christopher Reich’s first novel Numbered Account debuted in 1998 and, to date, has sold more than a million copies. His conspiracy-riddled plots and international appeal has made him one of the best writers in his genre. To date, Reich has written seven books including his latest novel, Rules of Vengeance, a sequel to his previous novel Rules of Deception. Reich’s appearance in Mohegan Sun’s “Winning Authors” series joins an elite class of authors including Sue Grafton, Lee Child, Nora Roberts, Robin Cook and Catherine Coulter.

His appearance will take place a day after the release of his seventh thriller, Rules of Vengeance. The novel brings back main character Jonathan Ransom into a world of duress, suspense and high-octane action that promises to live up to the expectations of the original.

Rules of Vengeance takes place months after foiling an attack on a commercial jetliner. Doctors Without Borders physician Jonathan Ransom is working under an assumed name in a remote corner of Africa while his newly-revealed spy wife, Emma, desperate to escape the wrath of Division, the secret American intelligence agency she betrayed, has vanished into the netherworld of international espionage. Both look forward to sharing a stolen weekend in London until an ambush on a convoy of limousines turns their romantic rendezvous into a terrorist bloodbath. In the confusion, Emma disappears.

As part of the “Winning Authors” event, a collaboration between Mohegan Sun and Spin Street, Reich will host a forum at Mohegan Sun’s Cabaret Theatre.  Included will be a question and answer session at 6:30pm where guests can ask Reich questions about his books and career. A book signing of Rules of Vengeance will then follow in the Spring Gateway at 7:30pm in The Shops at Mohegan Sun concourse.  Both events are free and open to the public.  Rules of Vengeance will be on sale and available for purchase at Spin Street beginning Wednesday, August 5th.
