ABOUT DEEP PURPLE
With a body of work spanning seven decades, Deep Purple has helped pioneer and define the Hard Rock genre whilst progressively moving into new areas to keep their sound fresh and attract new fans to the legions who have remained loyal since the band’s inception.
Known as one of the hardest working bands ever, Purple has released six studio albums since 1996 alone and has toured globally since forming in 1968 with little rest. In 2007 (almost 40 years after being formed) the band performed 40 dates in France to an award-winning audience of 150,000 whilst this summer, across the U.S. and Canada, the band partnered with fellow Hard Rockers Judas Priest embarking on a wildly successful 25 city tour!
Purple has stayed true to its musical roots taking from an eclectic mix of styles to create a distinctive sound that defines the band today, but which in turn, has created a legacy that very few bands could ever hope to replicate. The band has written and produced so many “classic” songs that its audience ranges widely in age and background, something the band has embraced and caters to, with its concert setlists.
There simply aren’t enough superlatives to properly acknowledge the contribution Deep Purple has made to Rock music. Having sold more than 100 million albums and filled global arenas for decades, it’s little wonder respected British radio station Planet Rock named the group the “5th Most Influential Band Ever,” whilst VH1 ranked them #22 on its “Greatest Artists of Hard Rock” list. Additionally, Deep Purple was given the “Legend Award” at the 2008 World Music Awards and, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. These guys truly are Rock royalty.
Mohegan Sun Arena is now ranked consistently among the top venues in the world according to Billboard Magazine, Pollstar and Venues Now. Tour based on new album arrives at the Arena stage on September 27th with special guest Joywave
UNCASVILLE, CT (May 3, 2019) – Grammy-nominated British phenomenon Bastille has announced their fall North American Tour, Doom Days Tour Part 1. The run will kick off September 16th at The Met in Philadelphia and stop by Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, September 27th at 7:30pm with special guest Joywave.
Tickets are $44.50, $34.50 & $24.50 and go on sale Friday, May 10th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning on Saturday, May 11th at 10:00am, subject to availability.
This tour highlights Bastille’s new album, Doom Days, set for release by Virgin Records on June 14th. Every online ticket order purchased for the U.S. dates on the fall tour will include a CD of the new album. The pre-sale code will be revealed on the band’s Instagram stories the morning of the pre-sale launch. The artist ticket pre-sale begins on Friday, May 3rd at 10:00am, local time. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, May 10th starting at 10:00am, local time.
Fans who pre-order Doom Days in digital format will instantly receive “Joy” plus the #1 Alternative hit “Quarter Past Midnight” and the title track, which premiered last week on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show.
Doom Days marks something of a shift in perception from its widely acclaimed predecessor, Wild World, which confronted the world and the actions of those in power. Recorded during the course of 2018 at the band’s South London studio, One Eyed Jack’s, the new album captures the need to temporarily switch off and escape.
Doom Days bustles with energy and ideas. Its diverse sound takes in Gospel, House Music and R&B to name a few genres, and incorporates instrumentation inspired by Bastille’s acclaimed Re-Orchestrated tour. The album is at times introspective, intimate, political and also perhaps their most danceable yet, with tracks like “Million Pieces” and “Nocturnal Creatures” built on 90s breakbeats and U.K. garage hooks. Pop culture references, mood-setting dialogue clips and a rolling cast of backing vocalists add textures and voices to this night out.
ABOUT BASTILLE
Hailed by Rolling Stone as “Britpop’s new crown princes,” Bastille has sold over eight million adjusted albums and amassed more than 6.5 billion cumulative streams globally. The band was introduced internationally with the single “Pompeii,” which is now 6X Platinum in the U.S. alone. “Pompeii” and subsequent hits “Good Grief” (2016) and “Quarter Past Midnight” (2018) each topped the Mediabase Alternative chart in the States. Marshmello and Bastille’s hit single, “Happier,” has topped charts around the world, with cumulative streams exceeding two billion. Certified 2X Platinum in the U.S., “Happier” held the #1 position for three consecutive weeks on Billboard’s BDS and Mediabase/Top 40 Radio Airplay chart. It also topped Billboard‘s Alternative Songs and Dance/Electronic Streaming chart, among others.
Mohegan Sun Arena is now ranked consistently among the top venues in the world according to Billboard Magazine, Pollstar and Venues Now. Mohegan Sun Arena is consistently ranked among the top three “Arenas in the World for its Size” and top 15 in the “World for All Size Venues.” The award – winning venue is the “#1 Casino Venue in the World,” “#1 Social Media Venue in the World” and a seven – time national award – winner for “Arena of the Year.” For more information on concerts and other great events, visit Mohegan Sun. ABOUT BILLY IDOL
Billy Idol was an early architect of the sound, style, and fury of Punk Rock. His lip- curling sneer and fist-pumping persona vaulted him into the mainstream as one of MTV’s first megastars, making him one of the most recognizable faces in Pop music. He has sold 40 million albums while scoring numerous platinum albums worldwide, nine top 40 singles in the U.S. and 10 in the U.K., including “Dancing With Myself, “White Wedding,” “Rebel Yell,” “Mony Mony,” “Eyes Without A Face,” “Flesh For Fantasy,” and “Cradle Of Love.” Billy was responsible for some of Punk Rock’s most memorable, literate, and evocative moments and created a pioneering new sound by bringing the spirit of ’77 to the dance floor, going on to fashion an immediately identifiable musical blueprint that integrates club-land throb, rockabilly desperation, and Rock’n’Roll decadence.
Billy Idol’s 2014 New York Times bestselling autobiography Dancing With Myself is an electric, intelligent, brutally honest and entirely self-written account of Billy Idol’s journey to fame, from his early days as front man of the pioneering U.K. punk band Generation X to a long and often decadent life lived loving sex, drugs, Rock’n’Roll.
Billy Idol, together with his band featuring his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens, has performed at marquee music festivals and has sold out concert tours around the world for the past 37 years.
ABOUT BRYAN ADAMS
One of the most highly acclaimed singer/songwriters, Bryan Adams is known for hit singles “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You,” “Summer Of ’69,” and his Rod Stewart and Sting collaboration “All for Love.” The Grammy winning artist has seen success from a string of #1 in over 40 countries and has sold an excess of 65 million records worldwide. His thirst for performing and unique take on live concerts have established him as one of the world’s best Rock singers of our time.
Bryan Adams is a Companion of the Order of Canada, has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and Canada’s Walk of Fame and the recipient of numerous Juno Awards, three Academy Awards and five Golden Globe nominations, a Grammy Award, American Music Awards and ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards.
