One Direction made history when their debut album Up All Night entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at #1 with over 176,000 copies sold. This makes chart history as the first British group ever to debut at #1 in the U.S. with their debut album release. Up All Night went straight to #1 on the digital chart within minutes of its official release on March 13th.
One Direction gained notoriety in 2010 after appearing on U.K.’s The X-Factor. Their global smash debut album, Up All Night, entered the charts at #1 in 12 countries and has been certified triple platinum in Ireland, double platinum in the U.K. & Australia and platinum in New Zealand.
Their BRIT Award winning debut single “What Makes You Beautiful” entered the charts at #1 in both the U.K. and Ireland. In the U.S., “What Makes You Beautiful” sold more than 131,000 copies in its first week, debuting at #12 on the Billboard Digital Songs chart. Their #28 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 marked the highest debut from a British Group’s debut single since the Spice Girls in 1998.
One Direction are Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. All of the group hail from the U.K., save for Horan, who is from Ireland. All five of the boys (ages 18-20) auditioned for U.K.’s The X-Factor in 2010 as solo artists. However, at the suggestion of Simon Cowell, they joined forces as a group, quickly becoming one of the competition’s most popular acts of all time, finishing in the final three and garnering a gigantic fan-base along the way.

Due to a personal family emergency, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has to postpone their schedule performance for June 1st to a later date in the near future. Mohegan Sun apologizes for the inconvenience and has replaced the performance with Brooks and Dunn’s own Kix Brooks.
Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Kix Brooks was influenced by a variety of regional musical styles ranging from Cajun, Blues, Jazz and Country. Brooks began performing at the age of 12 and continued performing in clubs and at other venues throughout high school. Eventually, he landed in Nashville and joined Tree Publishing Company as a songwriter. Shortly thereafter, artists like the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John Conlee and Highway 101 all scored #1’s with Brooks’ songs. In 1990, Brooks teamed with Ronnie Dunn to form Brooks & Dunn, the highest selling duo in the history of Country music.
Wolf Den performances are free and open to the public. Must be 21 years or older to attend.

Make no mistake about it, The Wanted are having the time of their lives. After only a year since their huge #1 debut single “All Time Low” they have already become one of Britain’s biggest, most brilliant Pop bands, living a dream that has far surpassed even their most optimistic expectations with their best mates by their side.
Hard working and quite plainly loving every single second, the band has already notched up four anthemic Top 5 singles and two #1 hits, been viewed a staggering 30 million times on YouTube and sold 400,000 copies of their eponymous debut album, which shook Pop music to its core upon its release last October. A year on and The Wanted are now set to shake up the charts all over again with their feverishly anticipated second album, a euphoric widescreen classic of epic Pop proportions. It comes at the end of simply phenomenal 2011, a year that has seen The Wanted become serious Pop players.
With their ferociously infectious tunes, rock solid friendship and laddish charms, they have stamped all over the typical boy band mold and brought a blast of much needed fresh air to British Pop music. The accolades have followed accordingly: The “Best British Single Brit” Award nomination for “All Time Low” in February, a deal with prestigious American label Def Jam in April and slots at the iTunes and V festivals in July and August, with 15,000 hollering revelers packing in the Big Blue Tent at V for a set many agreed was a highlight of the festival. All this from a band that started out paying their dues performing in somewhat dodgy nightclubs and a school tour that took them across the United Kingdom.
