UNCASVILLE, CT (July 29, 2019) – Fearless fans of Special Olympics can sign up
now for Over the Edge – a fundraiser hosted by Mohegan Sun to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut that will take place on Friday, September 6th. Those who accept the challenge raise funds online for the opportunity to rappel over 30 stories down Mohegan Sun’s Sky Tower and enjoy amazing views and an exciting and unforgettable experience. No experience is necessary. Participants must raise a minimum of $1,000 to rappel and weigh 100 lbs. or more.
For a ninth consecutive year, Mohegan Sun will host this event and many of its employees will go Over the Edge for Special Olympics, along with individuals and teams from area businesses, organizations and law enforcement departments. Special Olympics athletes will be on hand to cheer on and thank participants. All monies raised will help sustain and expand Special Olympics’ year-round sports, health and fitness programs for individuals of all abilities across the state.

NBC to Telecast Live on Thursday, December 19th from Mohegan Sun Arena
UNCASVILLE, CT (July 23, 2019) – NBC’s “The 2020 Miss America Competition” will telecast live on Thursday, December 19th at 8:00pm in Mohegan Sun Arena. The competition follows 51 compelling candidates as they compete for life-changing scholarships to be used to continue their efforts towards community service and education. The show will continue to highlight a diverse group of young students and professionals who are advancing the message of female strength, independence, and empowerment through their efforts in the areas of scholarship, talent and social impact. The Miss America Organization has ushered in a new era of progressiveness and inclusiveness, led by an all-female leadership team.
Over the last two years, the Miss America Organization and its state competitions have awarded nearly $6 million in scholarships. At the end of the telecast, one candidate will be chosen for the job of Miss America 2020 to build upon the work of Miss America 2019, Nia Franklin. Over the past year, Franklin has been promoting her social impact initiative, “Advocating for the Arts” through appearances at colleges and universities and has taken part in many other events, including making numerous visits to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Two-day event offering over 150 local drafts and restaurant offerings takes place October 4th & 5th
UNCASVILLE, CT (July 19, 2019) – Calling all beer lovers! Mohegan Sun’s Sun BrewFest is back with a two-day event featuring some of the best beer, food, and live entertainment in New England. Tickets are on sale now via ticketmaster.com and the Mohegan Sun Box Office. A portion of all ticket sales will go to the Channel 3 Kids Camp. All guests must be 21 or older to attend all events. Valid ID and tickets are required upon entry to all events.
A Taste of New England
At a Taste of New England on Friday, October 4th, guests can sample and sip their way through the Earth Ballroom with some of New England’s best local drafts, restaurant offerings, and live entertainment from 8:00pm – 10:00pm.
Tickets for A Taste of New England are $50.00 and one ticket is valid for admission and all food and beverages.
Sun BrewFest
Saturday, October 5th is the main event. The Earth Expo and Convention Center will be transformed into a brew lover’s paradise where guests can try over 150 beers, including craft brews, microbrews, imports, domestics and ciders, all while enjoying rockin’ live entertainment, fun games, an epic cornhole tournament and delicious signature food from local restaurants. Teams of two can let the beanbags fly at the cornhole tournament held during Sun BrewFest. First prize winners receive two $100.00 Mohegan Sun gift cards, and second place winners receive two $50.00 Mohegan Sun gift cards. UNCASVILLE, CT (June 26, 2019) – This Friday, June 28th, fans will have the chance to take photos with the 2018 World Series Championship trophy at Mohegan Sun. This #PTSDAwarenessMonth, Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program is teaming up with the Boston Red Sox to raise awareness of the invisible wounds of war affecting our Veterans, Service Members, and military-connected families; and the work being done at Home Base to provide care and support to our military community.
The trophy will be on display in The Shops at Mohegan Sun from 10:30am – 1:30pm.

WHAT: The American Cornhole League National Championships (ACL) will host its fourth national installment of the 2019 Johnsonville Cornhole Championships and the 2019 ACL Pro Invitational at Mohegan Sun!
Players range in ages of 15-70; a maximum of 384 ACL Pro/Advanced: 128 Competitive, 128 Social and 64 Junior players for a total of 704 players.
