9th annual event returns to Mohegan Sun on January 27, 28 & 29, 2012
The 9th annual Sun WineFest returns to Mohegan Sun from January 27 through January 29, 2012. Can’t-miss events including the Grand Tasting, Celebrity Chef Dine Around, Elite Cru Tasting, Bourbon Tasting and Bubbles & Bon Bons are on sale now through Ticketmaster, the Mohegan Sun Box Office or sunwinefest.com.
Grand Tasting
The weekend’s main event is the Grand Tasting, which will be held in the Convention Center from 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, January 28th and Sunday, January 29th. Main Stage events and celebrity chef demonstrations during the Grand Tasting include demonstrations from Bobby Flay, Todd English, Robert Irvine, the Mohegan Sun WineFest Grape Stomp, the 8th annual Mohegan Sun Oyster Open and more.
During the Grand Tasting, guests can sample more than 1,000 fine wines and specialty beers.  Guests can ask questions, hear commentary from winemakers and beer experts, and enjoy delicacies from some of the region’s finest restaurants by purchasing tasting portions of signature dishes at a nominal rate. Exhibitors showcasing related services such as wine storage, culinary accessories and specialty foods will also be featured. 
Tickets are $70.00 for a one-day pass and $120.00 for a weekend pass. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Channel 3 Kids Camp.
Celebrity Chef Dine Around
Complementing the Sun WineFest 2012 weekend is the Celebrity Chef Dine Around. This guest-favorite benefiting the Channel 3 Kids Camp will feature an all-star culinary lineup.
The evening will feature delectable dishes prepared by world-famous chefs, television celebrities and cookbook authors including Bobby Flay, Todd English, Jasper White, Donatella Arpaia and Robert Irvine.  Each dish will be paired with extraordinary wines whose winemakers will be on-hand to meet and greet guests. 
The Celebrity Chef Dine Around takes place in the Uncas Ballroom on Saturday, January 28th from 8:00pm to 11:00pm. Tickets are $175.00 per person.
Elite Cru Tasting
The Elite Cru Tasting returns to Sun WineFest in The Cabaret Theatre on Saturday, January 28th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. It offers select vintages from premium wineries (Silver Oak Napa Valley, Antinori Solaia, Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia, Duckhorn Three Palms Vineyard Merlot, to name a few) accompanied by scrumptious hors d’oeuvres. This unique event will give guests an opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with some of the best winemakers in the world in an intimate setting.
Tickets for the Elite Cru Tasting are $200.00 and include a Saturday Grand Tasting ticket.
Bourbon Tasting
The Bourbon Tasting presented by Beam Global Spirits and Wine returns and will kick off the weekend on Friday, January 27th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Leffingwells Martini Bar. Guests will be able to enjoy delectable hors d’oeuvres under the world’s largest indoor planetarium dome and taste a variety of fine bourbons including Maker’s Mark, Booker’s, Knob Creek and Jim Beam, among others. A dedicated space will also be provided for a premium cigar sampling hosted by Davidoff ─ one of the world’s most sought-after cigars.
Tickets are $90.00 per person and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Channel 3 Kids Camp.
Bubbles & Bon Bons
Ending the Sun WineFest 2012 weekend is the Bubbles & Bon Bons event in The Cabaret Theatre from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Sunday, January 29th. Bubbles & Bon Bons will give guests a chance to sample a variety of high-end champagnes, chocolates and cheeses and will be a perfect way to conclude the Sun WineFest weekend. Tickets are $95.00 per person.

Mohegan Sun’s “Crystal Anniversary” Celebration Highlighted By Special Concert by Jennifer Lopez

East Coast Gaming Destination Marks 15 Years with Month-Long Festivities
Uncasville, CT (August 25, 2011) – Mohegan Sun, one of the world’s largest and most spectacular gaming destinations, is getting ready to celebrate its 15th anniversary and is planning to do it in style. The festivities at the East Coast’s top entertainment hot spot will take place throughout the entire month of October but will culminate with a Gala Weekend October 21st – 23rd highlighted by a one-time-only special performance by Jennifer Lopez in Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, October 22nd created especially for this celebration. Ticket pricing and an on-sale date will be announced shortly.
The weekend will also feature a celebrity salute to Regis Philbin.  Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Stephen Stills and Country star Dierks Bentley will also be performing free concerts in Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den on October 21st & 22nd, while the General Hospital soap stars of Port Chuck rock the house in The Cabaret Theatre on October 22nd.
Mohegan Sun will roll out the red carpet for special guests who will participate in public events including Buddy Valastro, The Cake Boss, celebrity chefs Bobby Flay, Todd English and Jasper White, as well as Mary Murphy of So You Think You Can Dance. Mohegan Sun Hosts Restaurant Week

Dining deals throughout property September 12th – 18th
Mohegan Sun will host its very first Restaurant Week featuring delicious specials from Mohegan Sun-owned outlets and participating tenants starting Monday, September 12th and continuing until  Sunday, September 18th.  
Todd English’s Tuscany will prepare a three-course dinner starting with a choice of Flatbread or Salad followed by the main course offering a choice of Gnocchi, Spaghetti Polpettine, Pappardelle or Fettuccini Carbonara.  It concludes with any dessert on the menu plus coffee. The special will be offered at $30.00 per person (plus tax) from 5:00pm to close, Monday through Friday and 4:00pm to close on Saturday & Sunday.
Birches Bar & Grill will offer a three-course meal that starts out with a choice of any Soup, Garden Salad or Caesar Salad.  The entrée will be a choice of Shrimp Scampi, Rotisserie Roasted Half Chicken, Yankee Pot Roast or Steak Mac and Cheese. Guests can choose from New York Style Cheesecake or a Peanut Butter Bar for dessert.  The meal will be offered at $25.00 per person (plus tax) from 11:00am to 11:00pm.
At Bar Americain, guests can savor a three-course meal starting with a choice of Corn Soup with Blue Crab, Chopped Salad or Gulf Shrimp & Grits for an appetizer. For entrées, Wild Bass (Florida Style), Smoked Chicken and Crepes with Asparagus, Ricotta and a Cherry Tomato Sauce will be available. Finally, a choice of Deep Dish Chocolate Cream Pie or Strawberry with Summer Fruit Shortcake for dessert will round out the meal. It will be offered at $40.00 per person (plus tax). 
Michael Jordan’s Steak House’s special starts out with the choice of Steamed Prince Edward Island Mussels with Smoked Tomato Broth & Garlic Aioli or Toy Heirloom Tomatoes with Sweet Vidalia Onions, a Chervil Vinaigrette and Purple Opal Basil Purée as the appetizer. Then guests can choose the Ribeye, Chicken, or Shrimp with Pasta as their entrée. A Frozen Cappuccino with Orange Marscarpone and Chocolate Tuile or Local Farm Strawberries Madeline Shortcake with Fresh Whipped Cream will be the options for dessert. The special will be offered at $42.00 per person (plus tax).
Big Bubba’s BBQ will be offering a three-course meal including a choice of House Salad or Cup of Soup followed by a Chicken or Rib dinner with two sides, Cornbread and a choice of any dessert on the menu for $24.95 per person (plus tax).
Over at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, guests can partake in the Burger & Beer Special including any of their famous Burgers paired with a LandShark Lager, House Margarita or House Wine for the discounted price of $12.00 (plus tax). 
At Michael Jordan’s 23.sportcafe, diners can choose one appetizer from their menu, then pick a Cobb Salad, 23.Burger, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Fish & Chips or Roasted 1/2 Chicken as an entrée and finally indulge in either the Crispy Banana Spring Rolls or Slam Dunk Cake for dessert at only $23.00 a person (plus tax). 
Guests can head over to either Johnny Rockets or Johnny Rockets Express to receive a  Rocket single (with or without cheese), Fries, Soft Drink and choice of Apple Pie or Ice Cream for only $15.00 (tax included).
Both Lucky’s Lounge and The Dubliner will be offering guests the same delicious special. Diners can get a three-course lunch from the specials menu along with a choice of Soda, Coffee or Tea for only $15.00 (includes tax). This special is available from 11:30am to 4:00pm. (Gratuity not included and cannot be combined with any other offers.) On Friday, September 16th during Restaurant Week, guests can take advantage of “Fixed Fridays” at either dining outlet which includes one appetizer to share, two entrées and one dessert to split with your fellow diner for only $40.00 (includes tax.)

A Changing Of Seasons At Mohegan Sun

Completely remodeled restaurant reopens with nearly 800 seats
UNCASVILLE, CT – This past weekend, Mohegan Sun jump-started the holiday weekend with a celebration of its own: the much-anticipated reopening of the completely remodeled Seasons Buffet. Back bigger and better than ever, the restaurant now features nearly 800 seats and not only is the largest restaurant at Mohegan Sun, but one of the biggest buffets on the East Coast.
Construction began back in January to completely renovate the space from top to bottom. The 26,000 square-foot restaurant now features close to 800 seats – an increase of close to 20-percent – as well as private and semi-private dining areas, express check-in lanes, live cooking stations and a dynamic 100-foot by 4-foot cascading video wall. It also is home to the first Coca-Cola freestyle soda system in any casino and features over 100 flavors. An additional 30 new positions were also created including 20 servers and 10 cooks.
Seasons Buffet also has over 250 feet of counter space featuring over 200 items including Heart Smart, sugar and gluten-free options, in addition to traditional buffet fare. It will be home to a live cooking element throughout the space featuring several different stations including a New England Station featuring fresh, local seafood, a raw bar, Yankee Pot Roast, Turkey Pot Pie and more; an Italian/ Mediterranean Station with Woodstone Pies, Baked Pastas and Mediterranean favorites; The Carvery with a rotisserie and 3 large carving areas; an Asian Station with Wok, Sushi and classics like Lo Mein and General Tso’s Chicken; a BBQ Station with hand carved BBQ Brisket, Smoked St. Louis Ribs and Pulled Pork; a Soup and Bread Station, as well as a Dessert Station with live baking. Cobblers, Bread Puddings, Cookies, Pies, Cakes and more will be offered, in addition to a hand-dipped Ice Cream bar with toppings.
The restaurant will be open Sunday through Thursday from 7:30am to 10:00pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30am to Midnight. Prices for adults are $15.00 for breakfast, $21.00 for lunch and $25.00 for dinner; for kids, $6.50 for breakfast; $11.50 for lunch and $14.00 for dinner.

Make Your Father’s Day At Mohegan Sun

DINING
First off, Michael Jordan’s Steak House will be featuring a 16 oz. bone-in “Prime” Rib Eye Steak accompanied by three Sesame Coated Fried Prawns with Cucumber Kim chi and Chili Aioli.  This meal will be served for $55.00 per person.
Right next door, Michael Jordan’s 23.sportcafe will be serving a mouthwatering 23 oz. Prime Rib with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus.  This meal will be offered at $34.00 per person. 
Big Bubba’s BBQ will be featuring a succulent Prime Rib as well, served with Twice Baked Potato for $22.95 per person.
SolToro Tequila Grill will be offering a delicious 16 oz. Kansas City Steak, “papas de la abuela,” with Fingerling Potatoes sautéed with Onion, Garlic, Poblano Peppers and Cilantro as well as a side of Wild Mushrooms with Serrano Pepper Escabeche & Red Wine Reduction.  This meal will be offered at $33.95 per person.
Birches Bar & Grill will prepare a three-course meal beginning with a choice of Soup or Birches House Salad followed by an entrée of Roast Prime Rib of Beef served with Asparagus Spears, Garlic Smashed Potatoes and Horseradish Cream. For dessert, a Banana-Milk Chocolate Bombe with Caramel Rum Sauce and a Chocolate Covered Pretzel Garnish will be prepared. The special will be offered at $24.95 per person from Noon until 11:00pm.
Todd English’s Tuscany will be featuring a Chef’s Tasting for this Father’s Day that starts guests off with a Beef Tartare served with Truffle Vinaigrette and Grilled Toast Points.  The second course is Veal Ravioli with Mushroom-Thyme Cream. Next up is the main course which offers a Surf & Turf dish that includes a Petit Filet, Pesto Grilled Shrimp, Silk Potatoes and Tuscan Demi.  This meal is capped off with a delicious Root Beer Float.  This Tasting will be served for $55.00 or $90.00 with Wine Pairings.
Sunburst Buffet will have a wide choice of meals throughout their various stations.  For Italian lovers, Penne Primavera, Pork Cutlet Milanese as well as Housemade Meatballs with Marinara will all be offered.  Sunburst also has Seafood covered with Steamed Mussels Fra Diavolo with fresh Basil, Stir-Fried Shrimp and Vegtable, and Bronzed Red Snapper with Creole Sauce. Sunburst will also be preparing tasty BBQ St. Louis Ribs, Grilled Herb Marinated Chicken Breast and at 5:00pm Prime Rib will be offered.  The salad bar will be dressed up with Buffalo Style Tofu, Curried Chick Peas and Farro Risotto with Roasted Peppers and Mushrooms and at 5:00pm, Peel & Eat Shrimp will be available.  Meals are offered at $19.81 per person ($23.58 after 5:00pm) and $10.37 for children between the ages of six and twelve ($12.76 after 5:00pm).
