The “Masters of Madness” 2013 tour is underway and heads to Mohegan Sun on June 21st
In what is obviously a “dream” pairing, or some might say a “nightmare,” Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson will be teaming up for the “Masters of Madness” tour in June. The long awaited combo heads to Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, June 21st.

Alice Cooper is a true Rock icon, having pioneered the use of theatrics and shocking images onstage in concerts from the earliest days of the original band of the same name. Since going solo, he has continued to produce elaborate stage shows providing fans with both shock and Rock of the hightest caliber.
Inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 2011, Alice has toured and recorded continuously, with his most recent album being Welcome 2 My Nightmare through Ume. Recorded with longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin, who produced the original ground breaking, multi-platinum Welcome To My Nightmare album in 1975, the album picks up right where they left off, with Alice trapped in his own warped mind.
Marilyn Manson’s most recent full-length album Born Villain, his eighth overall, debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. It also grabbed the #1 spots on both the Heavy Album Chart and the Independent Album Chart.
“Born Villain is a return to form,” says CNN. “A hard-rocking album, brimming with rich imagery, visceral blowback and the glamour-meets-gutter eroticism that his best work evokes.” Rolling Stone has called the album some of his most “visceral and provocative tunes.” Born Villain earned Manson his fourth Grammy nomination at the 2013 Grammys in the category for “Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance” for the album’s lead single “No Reflection.”

“I never want people to be able to put their thumb on this band,” declares Shinedown frontman Brent Smith. “I never want anyone to know what we’re going to do musically. I want them to be shocked. I want them to be think, ‘They did it again. They surprised me.’ We like that. We like to challenge our audience.”
When Smith laid down the gauntlet, it set the tone for the recording of Shinedown’s fourth full-length album — the bruising, unapologetic, and totally kinetic Amaryllis. With unflinchingly honest, unrepentant songs like first single “Bully” and “I’m Not All Right,” as well as the deeply moving “Miracle” and the soulful love song “I’ll Follow You,” Amaryllis delivers on its mission statement throughout its 12 tracks: “It’s not a record for the faint of heart,” Smith admits. “Every single song makes a statement. I was looking for the kind of emotion that made every hair on the back of my neck stand on end. Because of that, I feel in my heart and soul that this album is a game changer for our band.”
With all the success Shinedown has had since Smith and drummer Barry Kerch formed the band in 2001, one could understand if its members just wanted to rest on their laurels. Shinedown is indisputably one of the fastest-rising rock acts of the last 10 years, beginning its assault on Rock radio with 2003’s platinum debut Leave A Whisper and the 2005 gold follow-up Us and Them. Together, both albums yielded seven Top 5 radio hits, including “Fly From the Inside,” “45,” a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man,” “Burning Bright,” “Heroes,” “I Dare You” and the #1 blockbuster, “Save Me,” which dominated Active Rock radio for 12 consecutive weeks.
The headline of the Billboard article said it all: “Like They Never Left.” The story, which ran in the October 29, 2011 issue, hailed the return of mega-platinum Rock band BUSH, who had just self-released The Sea of Memories, their first album in 10 years and wasted no time returning to the top of the charts. In fact, they did it in grand style: the album’s lead single, “The Sound of Winter,” made Rock radio history by becoming the first self-released song ever to hit #1 at Alternative Radio. “The Sound of Winter” also holds the distinction of being the reunited group’s first #1 single since 1999’s chart-topping hit, “The Chemicals Between Us.”
Australian Rock band Airbourne was formed in 2003 and has since gone on to record multiple hit records. Their 2010 album Not Guts. No Glory reached the top 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and top 20 on albums charts in Austria, New Zealand, Finland, Greece, Sweden and Switzerland. Airbournes next album, Black Dog Barking, is due out in May via Roadrunner Records.

One of the industry’s most electrifying live performers, four-time Grammy Award winner and American Idol judge Keith Urban will launch his “Light The Fuse Tour 2013” with Little Big Town and special guest Dustin Lynch. The “Light The Fuse Tour 2013” first leg kicks off on July 18th in Cincinnati and concludes on October 5th, after twenty-eight outdoor shows. The second leg begins on October 18th in Omaha before seventeen arena shows conclude on December 8th.

Famous BBQ Eatery opening this Spring
Barbeque lovers rejoice as Mohegan Sun announces a new addition to their restaurant offerings, Virgil’s Real BBQ, NYC’s original BBQ Restaurant since 1994. Set to open this spring, Virgil’s will be located on the upper level of The Shops concourse near The Lansdowne Irish Pub & Music House.
Virgil’s Real BBQ, which will have seating for 225, will boast something for everyone from comfort food favorites to regional cuisines to complement the famous smoked meats such as brisket, pulled pork and even some vegetarian dishes. This will be their third location with restaurants currently in New York City and in 2001, a 650-seat restaurant at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas.

The seed for Virgil’s Real BBQ was planted while restaurateur Artie Cutler was traveling in Asia where he and his traveling companions sampled different regional styles of traditional Asian BBQ. It’ll be a busy summer for the Barenaked Ladies (guitarist/vocalist Ed Robertson, bassist/vocalist Jim Creeggan, keyboardist/vocalist Kevin Hearn and drummer/vocalist Tyler Stewart), who are celebrating their 25th anniversary with the release of a brand-new studio album (their twelfth, for those keeping count) and their first for new label
Vanguard Records. The band is putting the finishing touches on the album, which was recorded in Toronto with producers Gavin Brown (The Tragically Hip, Metric), Howie Beck (Feist, Josh Rouse) and Mark Endert (Maroon 5, Train). Over the course of the past twenty-three years, Barenaked Ladies have amassed an international fanbase whose members number in the millions. Ben Folds Five is touring in support of The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind, the group’s first album of new music in 13 years. The groundbreaking Pop trio of pianist Ben Folds, bassist Robert Sledge and drummer Darren Jessee launched in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in‘94 and released debut album Whatever And Ever Amen in ‘97. A slice of pure Pop perfection, the album introduced the ballad “Brick,” which broke the band commercially and sold more than two million copies worldwide. BF5 recorded its last album, ‘99’s The Unauthorized Biography Of Reinhold Messner, which included the single “Army,” before disbanding in 2000. In 2011, the original three members of Ben Folds Five came together to record three new studio tracks for The Best Imitation Of Myself: A Retrospective, a career-spanning anthology. Guster recently self-released Guster: Live Acoustic, a collection of live recordings from their 2012 acoustic tour. It’s been eight years since Guster released a proper live album – 2004’s Guster On Ice – and two years since their last studio album, Easy Wonderful. The sixteen tracks from Live Acoustic are a musical tribute to the varied faces and places that made last year’s travels one of the most remarkable in Guster’s impressive career. Guster began in a dorm room at Tufts University and has released six studio albums in the last two decades – Parachute (1993), Goldfly (1998), Lost and Gone Forever (1999), Keep It Together (2003), Ganging Up On The Sun (2006) and Easy Wonderful (2010). Singer Ryan Miller has branched out into scoring films – including 2012’s beloved Sundance standout Safety Not Guaranteed. Bandmate Adam Gardner has started his own non-profit called “Reverb,” which works with bands, artists and venues to reduce the music industries environmental footprint.

The unique and incredible talent, Drew Thomas, is slated for a Wednesday, July 10th show at The Theater at Mohegan Sun Arena at 8:00pm.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Heart, head to Mohegan Sun for a July 4th concert with special guest Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Heart, will take their critically-acclaimed live show on the road this summer with very special guest Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience. Their Mohegan Sun concert is set for July 4th at 7:30pm.

Ann Wilson promises fans an incredibly special event. “Nancy and I and the rest of Heart are thrilled to be playing with Jason (son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham) and his band this summer. Ann Wilson and her younger sister, Nancy Wilson, first showed the world that women can Rock when their band Heart stormed the charts in the 70s with hits like “Crazy on You,” “Magic Man,” “Barracuda,” “Straight On,” “Even It Up,” “Kick It Out” and many more. Not only did the Wilson sisters lead the band, they wrote the songs and played the instruments, making them the first women in Rock to do so. Heart continued topping the charts through the 80s and into the 90s with huge hits like “These Dreams,” “Alone,” “Never” and a string of other hits that showcased the sisters’ enormous talents as both musicians and singers. Across four decades and 14 studio albums, Heart has sold more than 35 million records, had 21 top 40 hits, sold out arenas worldwide and profoundly influenced the sound and direction of American Rock music while inspiring women (and guys too!) around the world to Rock out in bands of their own.
On December 11th, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced the induction of Heart. The induction ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on April 18, 2013 and broadcast on HBO on May 18, 2013.
