Bellator MMA to take place on Saturday, September 7th
After suffering a broken hand in training, Season 8 Middleweight Tournament Winner Doug Marshall will have to put his title shot on hold. Using the Bellator Tournament Championship Replacement Clause for the first time, Bellator fighters and executives voted to determine their choice of which fighter would earn their title shot.
After consideration, reigning Bellator Middleweight World Champion Alexander “Storm” Shlemenko will now face Season 8 Tournament Finalist Brett Cooper at Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, September 7th. The night will also feature the opening rounds of Bellator’s Fall Season Middleweight Tournament, the live “Fight Master” Tournament Final, and the return of “The Baddest Man on The Planet” Joe Warren.
The event will broadcast LIVE starting at 8:00pm EST on Spike. The preliminary card will be streamed LIVE and FREE on Spike.com starting at 6:00 p.m. EST. Displaying a strong performance in last season’s tournament, Cooper is eager to get in the cage with Shlemenko and not only capture his first Bellator World Title, but also wipe his 2011 loss to Shlemenko off his record.
“My goal has always been the same, get the belt,” Cooper said. “I’m always making improvements and this is an incredible opportunity I’m not going to pass up. When we fought in 2011, it was an absolute war, and I’ve grown into a much different fighter over the last few years. I’m 26 years old, and this is my time to take the next step.”
The full fight card for Bellator 98 from Mohegan Sun has been finalized and the highly talented middleweight division includes Bellator veterans Brian Rogers and Andreas Spang, submission ace Giva Santana and Denmark’s Mikkel Parlo.

UNCASVILLE, CT – Mohegan Sun is excited to celebrate its 11th annual Sun WineFest on January 24, 25 & 26, 2014. Sun WineFest Grand Tasting
The main event of the weekend, the Sun WineFest Grand Tasting, will take place in the Convention Center on Saturday, January 25th and Sunday, January 26th from Noon to 5:00pm each day.
Over the course of the two days, the Grand Tasting will have something for everyone to enjoy no matter what their tastes may be. Wine and beer aficionados can choose from over 1,000 brands or enjoy tastings of specialty sponsor spirits. If your preference is food, signature dishes from the region’s most highly rated restaurants will be available for sampling*.
Saturday and Sunday’s Grand Tasting will also feature celebrity chef demonstrations and fun-filled contests on the Main Culinary Stage.

The free event will kick off in The Cabaret Theatre at 3:00pm with a live discussion followed by a signing event at 3:30pm in The Shops concourse. Beautiful Day was released on June 25th and will be available for purchase at Spin Street in The Shops concourse. ABOUT ELIN HILDERBRAND : Although born in Pennsylvania, Elin Hilderbrand looked forward to spending her childhood summers in Cape Cod with her family, playing games, adventuring around the beach and getting the perfect golden tan. When Hilderbrand’s father passed away when she was 16 years old, she spent that summer working in a costume factory warehouse, miles and miles away from her Cape Cod home. She promised herself that for the rest of her life she would always have a real summer.
After traveling extensively, Hilderbrand moved to Nantucket in 1993 and took a job as the “classified ads” writer at a local newspaper and later began her writing career. Hilderbrand is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the graduate fiction workshop at the University of Iowa.
Hilderbrand released her most recent book titled Beautiful Day, an emotional story of a Nantucket wedding that takes us into the heart of marriage, what it means to be faithful and how we choose to honor our commitments.
