“Once Upon A Dream Starring The Rascals” is a Rock concert and a Broadway show, a Rock N’ Soul dance party meets the Jersey Boys. In addition to the concert experience, the history of The Rascals and the history of the ‘60’s are told through their music (in fact, at thirty songs, the most comprehensive concert they’ve ever done), and dramaticized by a combination of narration, filmed scenes of actors acting out key moments in the band’s history, news footage and archival footage of the band.
There are elements of staging and light design never seen before, just as Marc Brickman has done in his previous groundbreaking work with Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Blue Man Group, the opening ceremony of the Olympics, and Roger Waters’ recent ‘The Wall’ tour.
The show debuted at the The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. The theater was uniquely qualified for this debut, as owner Peter Shapiro (Brooklyn Bowl, Wetlands, U2 3D) restored it to its 1926 magnificence while equipping it with a state of the art lighting, projection and sound system.

What: One of Rock & Roll’s all-time powerhouse bands will be taking part in a special Walk of Fame ceremony outside the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Mötley Crüe will have a star placed alongside some of Mohegan Sun Arena’s most beloved talents, some of which include Bon Jovi, KISS, Rod Stewart, Toby Keith and Taylor Swift. Their upcoming show marks Mötley Crüe’s third performance at Mohegan Sun Arena and they will also become the 25th entertainer inducted into the Walk of Fame.

January 2013 marked four decades since Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, then members of a band called Wicked Lester, joined up with drummer Peter Criss and guitarist Ace Frehley to form KISS. Forty years later, having racked up 28 U.S. gold albums along with 40 million U.S. and 100 million in world sales, Simmons and Stanley, with longtime members guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer, return stronger than ever. Released through Universal Music Enterprises, Monster is the 20th studio album in their historic career.
The 12-song (plus bonus track), straight-ahead Rock ‘n’ Roll album features collaborations from all four members in an effort that shows KISS at the top of its game. Monster is the group’s first studio album since the band’s 2009 smash success Sonic Boom, and was also produced by Paul Stanley with Greg Collins at Conway Studios in Hollywood, CA, and The Nook in Studio City, CA. “We weren’t interested in making just a great KISS album, but a great Rock album that lived up to the bands we loved growing up,” explains Stanley, “the ones who got us to play music in the first place.”

The group goes back to their own beginnings with the Who-like “Freak,” while Gene lives up the title track’s declaration on the raucus prehistoric Punk-Rock of “Back to the Stone Age” and the bludgeoning, self-referential “The Devil is Me.” “Take Me Down Below” is one of the KISS’ classic sexual double entendres in the mod of “Love Gun” or “Lick It Up.” Guitarist Thayer takes a solo turn on this own with “Outta This World,” a tribute to his KISS “spaceman” character, while drummer Singer provides the vocals (and the inspiration) for the Stanley-penned arena anthem “All for the Love of Rock & Roll.”

STYX – Tommy Shaw, James “JY” Young, Lawrence Gowan, Todd Sucherman and Ricky Phillips (along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo), have performed more live since ’99 than all of the previous years of its career combined. Black Sabbath launched their world tour on April 20th with two shows in Auckland, NZ. They are now in Australia for performances in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide, before heading to Tokyo for the first-ever Ozzfest in Japan on May 12.
Along the overseas tour, Black Sabbath—Ozzy Ozbourne, tony Iommi and Geezer Butler– are previewing music from their forthcoming 13. On the new album, due out June 11th, the band that defined Heavy Metal picks up immediately where they left off with eight sprawling songs (five of them are over eight minutes) that possess every ounce of the maniacal vitality of the Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees’ trailblazing work in the ’70s. Songs such as “End of the Beginning,” “Loner,” “Dear Father” and “Age of Reason” reinforce 13’s testament to the enduring relevance of Black Sabbath’s long-running reign. Produced by Rick Rubin (seven-time Grammy
winner, two of those as Producer of the Year), 13 will be released on Vertigo (worldwide) and Vertigo/Republic in the U.S.

Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing will return to Mohegan Sun on Friday, May 24th at 7:30pm with a sensational ESPN Friday Night Fights card headlined by world ranked contender and fan favorite Delvin Rodriguez in a ten junior middleweight clash against former world title challenger Freddy “EL Riel” Hernandez.

Fighting of out nearby Danbury, CT, and known for his sensational all-action fights, Rodriguez has been a staple at Mohegan Sun and on ESPN Friday Night Fights, this being his 16th appearance on the network and 6th at the venue.
On February 15th, Rodriguez triumphantly returned to the world-class venue with a dominant sixth round stoppage of previously undefeated George “Comanche Boy” Tahdooahnippah which was broadcast on ESPN Friday Night Fights.
Included among Rodriguez’ outstanding career performances (27-6-3 15 KO’s) is the 2011 Fight of the Year against Pawel Wolak (July 15th) from the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. The fight was non-stop action in a brutal and historic epic battle. Battling to a draw on ESPN Friday Night Fights in the first bout, Rodriguez shined when they fought the rematch at Madison Square Garden (December 3, 2011) displaying his full arsenal of boxing skills in a dominant victory over Wolak.
Fighting out of Mexico City, Mexico, Hernandez enters the ring with a record of 30-4-0 (20 KO’s), most recently challenging top rated contender Demetrius Andrade on January 25th in front of a standing room only crowd at The Paramount in Huntington, New York as part of the acclaimed Star Boxing’s “ROCKIN FIGHTS” series. The always rough and exciting Hernandez was Andrade’s toughest test in the ten-round fight the undefeated Andrade won by unanimous decision.
Included among the world champions and other top rated contenders Hernandez has faced are Andre Berto, Erislandy Lara, Luis Collazo, DeMarcus Corley, Mike Anchondo, Jesus Soto-Karass and Ben Tackie.

A voice of experience and learning from the sounds of Southside Chicago Electric Blues; of Griot mantras from West Africa; from Louisiana Dance Halls; Greenwich Village Folk hangover; Haight Ashbury indulgences; Moroccan medina breakbeat; the early English radical techno materials, Texas two-step and Bristol Dubstep.
Before his recent projects in Nashville with Alison Krauss and Band of Joy, Plant worked alongside the very interesting force, “Strange Sensation”, recording the critically acclaimed, multi-Grammy nominated albums – Dreamland and Mighty Rearranger. From this platform, Sensational Space Shifters has developed.
