Completely remodeled restaurant reopens with nearly 800 seats
UNCASVILLE, CT – This past weekend, Mohegan Sun jump-started the holiday weekend with a celebration of its own: the much-anticipated reopening of the completely remodeled Seasons Buffet. Back bigger and better than ever, the restaurant now features nearly 800 seats and not only is the largest restaurant at Mohegan Sun, but one of the biggest buffets on the East Coast.
Construction began back in January to completely renovate the space from top to bottom. The 26,000 square-foot restaurant now features close to 800 seats – an increase of close to 20-percent – as well as private and semi-private dining areas, express check-in lanes, live cooking stations and a dynamic 100-foot by 4-foot cascading video wall. It also is home to the first Coca-Cola freestyle soda system in any casino and features over 100 flavors. An additional 30 new positions were also created including 20 servers and 10 cooks.
Seasons Buffet also has over 250 feet of counter space featuring over 200 items including Heart Smart, sugar and gluten-free options, in addition to traditional buffet fare. It will be home to a live cooking element throughout the space featuring several different stations including a New England Station featuring fresh, local seafood, a raw bar, Yankee Pot Roast, Turkey Pot Pie and more; an Italian/ Mediterranean Station with Woodstone Pies, Baked Pastas and Mediterranean favorites; The Carvery with a rotisserie and 3 large carving areas; an Asian Station with Wok, Sushi and classics like Lo Mein and General Tso’s Chicken; a BBQ Station with hand carved BBQ Brisket, Smoked St. Louis Ribs and Pulled Pork; a Soup and Bread Station, as well as a Dessert Station with live baking. Cobblers, Bread Puddings, Cookies, Pies, Cakes and more will be offered, in addition to a hand-dipped Ice Cream bar with toppings.
The restaurant will be open Sunday through Thursday from 7:30am to 10:00pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30am to Midnight. Prices for adults are $15.00 for breakfast, $21.00 for lunch and $25.00 for dinner; for kids, $6.50 for breakfast; $11.50 for lunch and $14.00 for dinner.

ABOUT FRANKIE BALLARD: Few artists in the history of Country music have risen from obscurity to prominence with the speed of guitar slinger Frankie Ballard. On his debut album, Ballard brought a Bluesy, Rocking edge to the Country scene. His talents as a vocalist, songwriter, instrumentalist and showman have already made him one of the genre’s most memorable new personalities. His first single, “Tell Me You Get Lonely,” became a Top 5 video chart success. His first club tour was with big-time hit maker Uncle Kracker. The first of his songs to be recorded by another artist was by Billy Currington. All of this took place in 2010 and Ballard hasn’t slowed down since. At the start of 2011 he released his second radio single “A Buncha Girls” and soon after got the call to open for Taylor Swift’s U.S. Arena Tour. The award seeks to recognize those individuals who have made significant contributions to the success of Mohegan Sun as the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination. $250,000 Summer Showdown to be held July 7th – July 10th
Mohegan Sun is set to kick off the $250,000 Summer Showdown Poker Tournament on Thursday, July 7th in Mohegan Sun’s Convention Center. The four-day tournament will feature various poker events with affordable buy-ins as well as a $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em $125,000 Guaranteed Main Event on Saturday, July 9th.
The action starts on Thursday, July 7th at 11:00am with a $440.00 buy-in, No-Limit Hold’em tournament featuring a $50,000 Guarantee. Also on July 7th, a $180.00 Bounty with a $10,000 Guarantee is set to take place at 6:00pm.
On Friday, July 8th, the $300.00 No-Limit Hold’em $25,000 Guarantee will begin at 11:00am followed by a $120.00 No-Limit Hold’em, $10,000 Guarantee tournament at 6:00pm.
The Main Event kicks off on Saturday, July 9th at 11:00am with the $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em, $125,000 Guarantee. A $180.00 Bounty Tournament also takes place on the 9th, beginning at 6:00pm.
The final day of the showdown is Sunday, July 10th and it will feature the biggest Bounty tournament of the week with the $330.00 Bounty “Deep Stack” at 11:00am with a $20,000 Guarantee. The last tournament will start at 3:00pm with a $250.00 buy-in No-Limit 6 Max.
Weekly Satellite Qualifying Tournaments for Mohegan Sun’s Summer Showdown Poker Tournament are currently in progress and will run up until the tournament kicks off on July 7th. Incubus was formed in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger and drummer Jose Pasillas while enrolled in high school. Incubus has received both critical acclaim and commercial success, reaching multi-platinum sales, as well as releasing several highly successful singles. The band started branching out creatively and earned mainstream recognition with the release of their 1999 album Make Yourself. In 2001, Incubus became even more successful with the single “Drive” and their follow-up album Morning View. Their studio album, Light Grenades, debuted at #1 in 2006 and has received Gold certification in the U.S.
