Auction Features Sold-Out Docket and Family Activities Wednesday-Saturday
UNCASVILLE, CT (June 19, 2017) – The 2nd Annual Barrett-Jackson Northeast Auction returns this week, June 21-24, at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions® will once again offer a full schedule of events, including a variety of family festivities and the automobilia auction starting Wednesday during Preview Day. The excitement continues Thursday through Saturday with the collector car auction, featuring a sold-out docket for the second year in a row.
The event kicks off Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. with Preview Day, where fans can see the cars up close before they cross the auction block and enjoy watching the bidding action beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the arena during the automobilia auction. Exhibitors will be on-site with activities and a variety of automotive and lifestyle products, including fine art, jewelry, furniture and more. A fan favorite – the Ford and Chevrolet Ride ’N Drives and Dodge Thrill Rides – returns to Mohegan Sun and provides fans an opportunity to test-drive the latest offerings from the automakers or take a heart-stopping ride around a closed track with a professional driver.
The event ramps up Thursday, Friday and Saturday with gates opening at 8:00 a.m., the automobilia auction starting at 10:00 a.m. and the collector car auction beginning at 1:00 p.m. each day. Recently filling up the sold-out docket are a very rare 1972 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (Lot #672.1), an original 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback (Lot #709) and two beautiful Jaguar XKE Series I (Lot #678/Lot #681) vehicles.

with a full week of collector car activities, events and unparalleled auction action. Building on the momentum from last year’s first double sellout in the company’s history, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auction® is fueling the enthusiasm of the collector car hobby across the Northeast with its premier automotive lifestyle event at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, June 21-24, 2017. Barrett-Jackson will rev up for the week of activities as the title sponsor of the New England Concours d’Elegance, which begins Saturday, June 17th. Additional events and activities will continue through the week, culminating with the highly anticipated auction at Mohegan Sun.

Consignments are already pouring in for Barrett-Jackson’s Northeast Auction, including one of the world’s most desirable supercars, a 2017 Ferrari 488 Spider (preview), which can only be purchased outside of this auction by joining an extensive waiting list. This Corsa Red prancing horse has only 77 miles and features a power retractable hardtop, 3.9-liter V8 engine, 7-speed F1 dual clutch transmission and over $90,000 in optional equipment. Also crossing the block is an incredibly rare ’70 Ford Mustang Boss 429 (preview). With a fresh restoration and only 10 test miles on the odometer, this Grabber Blue Boss 429 is an extremely coveted Mustang and includes the Drag Pack convenience group, competition suspension and 429 Boss engine with 375 horsepower.
The Northeast Auction will add more examples of American performance and design to the auction block with a ’66 Shelby GT350-H Fastback (preview). One of only 59 built in Ivy Green, this authentic Shelby was completely restored in 2010 and is fully documented in the SAAC Shelby Registry.
Also on the docket is a custom ’66 Corvette Pro-Touring Convertible (preview), which is a ground-up build on an Art Morrison chassis. Under the hood is a ground-shaking LS3 engine with a custom forced-intake manifold mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The interior is completely new and Dyno-matted from the firewall back.
Auction guests will also see a European take on performance with offerings that include a ’88 Porsche 930 911 Turbo Cabriolet (preview) with a factory slant nose. This Porsche features a 3.3-liter engine with 4-speed transmission and includes the original Fuchs wheels.

Mohegan Sun. In a first for the 45-year-old company, Barrett-Jackson sold out of its weekend tickets within hours of opening on Thursday.
Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson, comments, “Only at Barrett-Jackson can someone rub shoulders with celebs – including Carolina Panthers All-Pro tight end Greg Olsen, former NBA star Dan Gadzuric, Chef Buddy Valastro of “Cake Boss” fame, “Fast N’ Loud” host Richard Rawlings, Wayne Carini of “Chasing Classic Cars,” and actor and martial artist Chuck Zito – while bidding on some of the most collectible cars in the world. From the spectacular and star-studded Opening Night Gala to the closing bid, the weekend was full of memorable moments, such as when “Cake Boss” star Buddy Valastro presented Craig Jackson with a custom replica cake inspired by his mother’s 1934 Cadillac coupe, which Jackson had purchased at the Scottsdale auction earlier this year (Valastro’s eleventh Carlo’s Bakery is located in Mohegan Sun). Additionally, as at every Barrett-Jackson event, charity was an important part of the weekend: more than $605,000 was raised for a variety of worthy causes through the sale of six charity cars. Carolina Panther Greg Olsen stepped up to the block to sell a 1969 Chevy Camaro for $100,000 to benefit his charity The HEARTest Yard, and the Zac Brown Band sold a custom 2015 Jeep Wrangler to raise $120,000 for Camp Southern Ground.
Barrett-Jackson’s vision to bring a collector car event to the Northeast region was realized with near unparalleled success for a first-time auction. The total number of bidders (over 1,700) surpassed initial projections, with a record-number registering for bidder credentials on-site. Auto enthusiasts and families traveled from across the U.S. and Canada to enjoy the event, which included special exhibits, vendors and activities such as Ford and Chevy Ride ’N Drives and Dodge Thrill Rides all three days. Ticket sales for Friday and Saturday sold out within a few hours of the Thursday opening, with Barrett-Jackson adding additional seating and auction personnel to accommodate the unprecedented crowd, even offering Twilight tickets available for purchase after 5pm.
