Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, made history with the sale of the last-built C7 Chevrolet Corvette (Lot #3001) and continued to fuel the hobby with a diverse docket of collector vehicles during the 4th Annual Northeast Auction, June 26-29, 2019, at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. Sales over the four-day event also continued to point to the growing popularity of Resto-Mods and late model performance vehicles. The rise in popularity of Japanese collector cars was also highlighted when a 1997 Toyota Supra Anniversary Edition (Lot #711) sold for a record $176,000, making it one of the top ten vehicles sold. Among the top ten vehicles sold during this year’s Northeast Auction, six set new auction records.
In total, 545 vehicles sold for over $21.8 million with a 100 percent sell-through rate, while 470 pieces of automobilia brought in $766,000, and more than $2.8 million was raised through the sale of three charity vehicles, bringing the total auction sales to more than $24 million.
“We’re so appreciative of all our guests, sponsors and exhibitors who contributed to this auction and made it such an extraordinary event,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Thanks to everyone’s participation and efforts, we hit incredible milestones as we wrote new pages in automotive history. Chief among those was a new charity auction record set by the last-built C7 Corvette. This special moment closed an era for Corvette and also raised critical support for our nation’s heroes. We built so much momentum this year in Scottsdale, Palm Beach and the Northeast that we can’t wait to top it off in Las Vegas this October.”

“Collector cars are the heart and soul of everything we do,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “But we’ve gone a step further to create an immersive lifestyle experience around the auction that’s unmatched in this great hobby. We offered terrific symposiums led by top automotive experts and hands-on exhibits. For the first time since its introduction, Ford offered select rides to the public in the adrenaline-pumping Ford GT supercar. Only at Barrett-Jackson can you drive home the car of your dreams, rub shoulders with industry legends and make memories that will last a lifetime.”

UNCASVILLE, CT (June 3, 2019) – Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, will kick off its 4th Annual Northeast Auction at Mohegan Sun on Wednesday, June 26th, with a special Shell Family Day powered by Pennzoil featuring free admission for high school students (with a valid school ID) and younger. Guests of this year’s Family Day will get an exclusive sneak peek of over 500 collector vehicles before they roll across the auction block, as well as access to the vast sponsor and exhibitor pavilion and the all-new TechForce STEM Center presented by Shell and powered by Pennzoil.
“Shell Family Day will set the perfect tone for our Northeast Auction,” said Craig Jackson, CEO and chairman of Barrett-Jackson. “In addition to the hundreds of collector cars and automobilia pieces on display, we’ll have many exciting activities planned for our guests. We especially want to encourage the next generation of car enthusiasts and collectors with fun and interactive learning exhibits. The TechForce STEM Center will do just that with hands-on activities designed to inspire today’s youth and give them a taste of the incredible opportunities available to them in our industry.”
The TechForce STEM Center, which will be open throughout the entire Northeast Auction, from June 26th-29th, is a 2,000-square-foot exhibition featuring hands-on activities that allow students to better understand automotive technology through the applications of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). TechForce Foundation is a not-for-profit charity with the mission of championing students to and through their education and into careers as professional technicians.
“Rather than show students automotive displays they can’t touch, we want them to give them a hands-on learning experience,” said Jennifer Maher, CEO of TechForce Foundation. “Our future workforce comprises tactile learners, which means they learn by doing. Our STEM Center will feature a number of stations designed to let students fidget with engines, pretend they’re changing a tire in a NASCAR pit, learn how to compare and contrast friction, resistance, weight and velocity in order to understand the laws of physics and how they relate to the automobile, and more. We are excited to give students the chance to immerse themselves in this exciting automotive world.”
Flat 12 Gallery will also be a part of the STEM Center and will showcase its SEMA Show car, a Volvo V06, which will be sold for charity at the 2020 Scottsdale Auction. Jeff Allen and Meg Bailey from the Skidmarks Show and The Car Chasers will be conducting autograph signings, V06 talks, meet-and-greets, and giveaways daily in the STEM Center. In addition, TechForce national board member Bogi Lateiner from MotorTrend’s All Girls Garage will be on hand to sign autographs and run some hands-on activities at the STEM Center on Friday and Saturday, June 28th & 29th.
Other opportunities during Family Day include the heart-pounding Ford Hot Laps and Dodge Thrill Rides, where this year a few lucky visitors will have the opportunity to ride along in an iconic Ford GT. The DIY Pavilion also returns, featuring live builds from Factory Five, hands-on demonstrations from Dannmar MaxJax, Bad Dog Tools, Cobra Torches and more.

“The Ford Mustang is an iconic American sports car with a rich racing heritage,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Carroll Shelby helped skyrocket the Mustang’s appeal in 1965 when he introduced the GT350. Today, the popularity of the Mustang continues to be fueled by great drivers like World Champion drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr., and we are excited to have him auction his custom RTR-C. Over the years Barrett-Jackson has sold some of the most high-profile Mustangs, and we look forward to continuing that tradition at Mohegan Sun.”

“Backed by an impressive racing heritage, Mustang remains one of the most sought-after muscle cars on the market,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “They’re an excellent car for first-time buyers and seasoned collectors alike. Our Northeast docket will give enthusiasts at every level a chance to own their own piece of American automotive history.”
Mustangs from the ’60s in this year’s premier automotive lifestyle event at Mohegan Sun include a ’67 Custom Fastback (Lot #667). It features a rare Ford 427 FE side-oiler big-block engine connected to a C6 racing transmission and is loaded with high-performance components, including a MagnaFlow exhaust, sway bars and American Racing Shelby Cobra 18-inch rims with Nitto tires.
