Sun, announced today that Kara Fox-LaRose has been appointed General Manager of the Cowlitz Project, the $500-million-dollar casino project that will be the West Coast’s premier gaming, dining, entertainment and meeting destination. With over 20 years of gaming and hospitality experience, Fox-LaRose will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the facility slated to open in spring 2017.
“We’re thrilled to appoint Kara Fox-LaRose to General Manager of the Cowlitz Tribe’s project,” said Bill Iyall, Chairman, Cowlitz Tribe. “She is a highly accomplished professional with deep experience in the gaming and entertainment industry, and we’re looking forward to having her leadership here in Southwest Washington. In her most recent role, Fox-LaRose served as Assistant General Manager of Mohegan Sun Pocono (MSP), in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Keith Thurman to defend WBA Welterweight Title Against Shawn Porter In Blockbuster Showdown of Elite 147-pounders on Saturday, March 12th from Mohegan Sun Arena; Live on CBS at 8:30pm
UNCASVILLE, CT (January 26, 2016) – Mohegan Sun Arena will host WBA Welterweight World Champion Keith “One-Time” Thurman in defense of his title against former champ “Showtime” Shawn Porter in a blockbuster matchup of two of the world’s best 147-pound fighters on Saturday, March 12th on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING on CBS.
The welterweight showdown will air live on CBS at 8:30pm from Mohegan Sun. The last primetime boxing event on CBS was Muhammad Ali-Leon Spinks on February 15, 1978.

“One-Time” Thurman, who owns a better than 80 percent KO ratio and knocked out 18 of his first 20 opponents, is considered one of the most avoided fighters in boxing. After unsuccessfully lobbying to fight the best of the division for the past two years, Thurman finally had a breakout 2015.
The hard-hitting Florida native floored former champion and long-time contender Robert Guerrero en route to a convincing 12th round unanimous last March in Las Vegas. He then dominated and bloodied former champ Luis Collazo on July 11th, winning via seventh round TKO. Thurman won the Interim WBA belt with a knockout of Diego Chaves in 2013 and scored consecutive knockouts over Jesus Soto Karass (2013) and Julio Diaz (2014) in his first and second title defenses.
Against Porter, Thurman will now get a chance to prove what he’s been claiming for years – that he’s the world’s best welterweight – in the toughest test of his career.
“Showtime” Porter has built one of the most impressive resumes in the division since making his welterweight debut in 2010. Porter, who surprisingly turned professional as a super middleweight (168 pounds), won the IBF crown in 2013 with an impressive unanimous decision over Devon Alexander.
The physically-gifted and offensive-minded Ohio native knocked out former two-division world champion Paulie Malignaggi with a brutal clean right hand in April of 2014 in the lone defense of his title. Porter lost the IBF belt less than four months after the Malignaggi victory in a close majority decision defeat to undefeated British superstar Kell Brook, but he bounced back with a fifth-round knockout of Erick Bone in March of 2015. Porter scored what many considered an upset victory in his next bout over then three-division world champion Adrien Broner with a clear unanimous decision last June 20th in Las Vegas.
The aggressive, come-forward Porter has built his career as a perennial underdog who relishes in the role. But, with the resume he has built, it’s hard to consider him an underdog anymore heading into this crossroads showdown with Thurman.

Meet the brothers as they share their recently-released debut album, Pawn Shop, with fans during this free autograph session in The Shops concourse.
Participation is on a first-come first-served basis. Due to time restrictions, Brothers Osborne will only be signing copies of their debut album, Pawn Shop. There will be no personal photos or photo personalization. This event is bracelet-only. Bracelets will be distributed upon purchase of Pawn Shop at Spin Street in The Shops concourse. Participants must have a bracelet in order to gain entry into the signing line.

Iliza Shlesinger holds nothing back during her show, which features her sharp and sexy take on life. Originally from Dallas, Iliza moved to Los Angeles after graduating from Emerson College. In 2013 her debut one hour comedy special, War Paint reached #1 on the iTunes charts and was named one of the “Top Ten Albums of 2013” on iTunes. It is currently available on Netflix. Her follow up Netflix Original Comedy Special Freezing Hot premiered to rave reviews in January 2015. She was the host of CBS’s syndicated comedy dating show Excused, in which she filmed 230 episodes.
Iliza, will host TBS’ exciting new game show, Separation Anxiety, premiering in spring 2016.
