The world famous Harlem Globetrotters will take fan interaction to a new level when the 2014 “Fans Rule” World Tour comes to Mohegan Sun Arena on Wednesday, February 12th at 7:00pm. Online voting is now open at harlemglobetrotters.com/rule where all fans can choose which new game-changing rules they want to see in their hometown.
Tickets are $72.00, $48.00, $31.00, $26.00 and $19.00 and go on sale Monday, October 7th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. The Globetrotters were the first organization in sports and entertainment to let fans vote on rules when the team introduced the concept last year. Since the fan response was so overwhelming, the team is doing it again – but with a major twist.
The 2014 online ballot includes three never-before-seen revolutionary rules:
- Hot Hand Jersey – Both teams will have a “Hot Hand Jersey” they can pass among each other. The player who is wearing this jersey will receive double points on made baskets.
- Make or Miss – The quarter begins with only two players on the court for each team. When a team scores, a teammate may enter the game. When they miss, the player missing the shot must leave the court, leaving his or her teammates shorthanded.
- Trick Shot Challenge – Via three challenge flags per team, each coach can challenge the other team to make a trick shot. If the team makes the trick shot, they earn five points. If they miss, the other team receives five points.

For the first time in Winning Authors history, Mohegan Sun will be hosting back-to-back events during the month of November. On Saturday, November 9th, New York Times bestselling author Mary Kay Andrews will be discussing her latest book, Christmas Bliss, in time for the holiday season. Mohegan Sun Arena awarded Best Arena of the Year & Tom Cantone wins Entertainment Executive of the Year
Mohegan Sun took home two awards at the G2E Global Gaming Conference’s inaugural Casino Entertainment Awards in Las Vegas last night. Mohegan Sun won Best Arena of the Year, topping MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas and Thunder Valley Casino Resort Amphitheater in Lincoln, California and Senior Vice President of Sports & Entertainment, Tom Cantone, took home the prize for Entertainment Executive of the Year. Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den was also nominated for the Best Theater of the Year.
This was the first ever entertainment awards ceremony at the G2E with votes tabulated nationwide.
“Accepting this award is the pinnacle of recognizing the best entertainment team in the nation, who all have ownership of building our entertainment product into one of the elite programs and venues in the world” said Tom Cantone, Senior VP of Sports & Entertainment.

Technology and Chief Information Officer where he will oversee all aspects of the Information Systems department. Brown has over 20 years of IT experience, most recently as Vice President of Information Technology at the flagship’s sister property, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Brown began at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in 2006 first serving as IT Engineering Manager, then moving on to become the Director of Information Technology before being promoted to Vice President of Information Technology in 2011. Prior to that, he worked as a programmer, analyst and Manager for Penn Software, Southern Union and System One Solutions.
