Agreement Allows Casino to Gear Up for Regulated Online Gaming
Uncasville, CT – Mohegan Sun and Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs are pleased to announce an agreement with Las Vegas-based Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), to provide customers with its iGaming platform. This technology will allow customers to enjoy the thrill of online poker play without wagering money. The play-for-free model will be available beginning in early 2013 at www.mohegansun.com and www.poconodowns.com. Mohegan Sun is the only gaming destination on the East Coast to offer Bally’s iGaming technology.
The agreement comes after an extensive six-month review process to determine the best vendor and technology. “We’re thrilled to continue our successful partnership with Bally Technologies,” said Mitchell Etess, Chief Executive Officer for the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority. “Our goal is always to provide our guests with the best gaming and entertainment offerings and we believe iGaming is the next step in fulfilling the demand for regulated online play when customers aren’t able to be on property. Further, we believe this exciting new offering will entice new players to visit our properties and experience all that we have to offer.”
The iGaming platform is also designed for mobile integration and is ready to accommodate online gaming beyond poker, such as casino table games, video slots, and sports betting as Connecticut regulations allow.
“We are proud of our long-term strategic partnership with The Mohegan Tribe,” said Bally Technologies’ Chief Executive Officer Richard Haddrill. “This partnership will demonstrate the advantages of having an open iGaming platform, which allows for best-in-class content.”

Talented musicians perform live in Arena on December 8th
In support of their latest #1 album, Away From The World, Dave Matthews Band brings their east coast winter tour to Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, December 8th at 7:00pm.
Tickets are $80.00 and $70.00 and go on sale Friday, October 19th through Ticketmaster at 10:00am. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge By Phone number 1.800.745.3000; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, October 20th, subject to availability.
VH1 has added “Mercy 9.25.12,” an updated version of the band’s latest music video, which was unveiled last week in honor of the first-ever National Voter Registration Day (NVRD). Building on the original “Mercy” video, which used images from 14,000+ fans to illustrate that “one by one, we can turn it around,” the band added a message from Dave Matthews about voting and an embedded link to headcount.org voter registration page. NVRD brought together volunteers, artists, celebrities, organizations and corporations for a single day of coordinated efforts around voter registration. In 2008, 75 million Americans eligible to vote didn’t; many because they weren’t registered. View “Mercy 9.25.12” at http://bit.ly/RYxeJ1.
“Mercy,” a #1 hit at Triple A radio, is the first single from Away From The World, which bowed at #1 on the Billboard 200 last month, making Dave Matthews Band the first group in chart history to have six consecutive studio albums debut atop the chart.
The group – which ranked as the biggest ticket seller worldwide of the past decade and has sold over 18 million tickets since its inception – is renowned for its live performances. “Matthews and his terrific players would have blown the roof off the place if there was one,” marveled the Orange County Register in a recent review while The Hollywood Reporter noted “after more than two decades on the road, there isn’t a stage built yet he [Matthews] can’t make feel like home.”
Dave Matthews Band – includes Carter Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass), Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar) and Boyd Tinsley (violin). Away From The World follows 2009’s Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. The group has sold a collective 37 million CDs and DVDs combined.
Mohegan Sun Arena is ranked 3rd in the U.S. and 4th in the world by Billboard Magazine and was the 2008 and 2010 recipient of a Country Music Award for “Casino of The Year.” Venues Today also ranked Mohegan Sun Arena #4 in 2011 and ranked in the top six of “Top Stops of The Decade” in 2012. Cross-marketing promotion will allow guests at each property to use their rewards points at all three locations
Uncasville, CT – In this case, three isn’t a crowd as Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Pennsylvania, and Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City will now offer guests a new way to use and earn their rewards points. Effective October 1st, the three properties will offer a cross-marketing promotion which allows guests to use their rewards points at any of the three properties. This comes after an announcement was made in August, that pending regulatory approval, Mohegan Gaming Advisors – a subsidiary of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority which owns and operates Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Pennsylvania – would take over management of Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.
“With both our properties in Connecticut and Pennsylvania, our approach has always been focused on the guest experience and ensuring that each time a guest experiences one of our exciting destinations, they leave wanting to come back and do it all over again,” said Mitchell Etess, Chief Executive Officer for the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority. “With the addition of Resorts, we are now able to expand and augment our unique offerings to include an iconic beachfront destination. It’s our hope that guests will really take advantage of this new platform to try one of our properties that they might have not considered in the past. The diversity of all three destinations provides a distinct array of offerings.”
Guests of all three properties will retain membership in their respective ‘home’ casino’s Player’s Club program, but will now be able to utilize the points earned at each of the properties to purchase an array of on-property offerings such as retail, dining, hotel accommodations, entertainment and more, simply by presenting their rewards card. Rewards points at all three properties will be used at a one-to-one ratio, meaning one point will be equal to one dollar for purchase.
Each property has unique attributes that can offer guests an exclusive experience – and when combined – create a one-of-a-kind program that will reward guest loyalty with a broader menu of amenities. Mohegan Sun in Connecticut is the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination and is home to over 75 shops and restaurants, top-ranked entertainment venues, a world-class spa, an 18-hole championship golf course and so much more. The pastoral and picturesque Pocono Downs area of Pennsylvania is the perfect spot to enjoy live harness racing, exciting table games and an array of culinary options. Plus, the iconic New Jersey Boardwalk, steeped in history and tradition, sets the stage for a beachfront experience at Resorts Casino Hotel.
With all three of the properties located within a four-hour drive and centrally located in one of the country’s most populous regions, guests are able to enjoy a quick getaway or relaxing vacation with only a moment’s notice at any of the three destinations.
For more information on the individual property programs, please visit their websites at mohegansun.com, mohegansunpocono.com and resortsac.com.
