Special guests Trivium and In Flames join the co-headliners at Mohegan Sun Arena on May 13th
Following the enormous success of their 2021 co-headline U.S. tour, Metal titans Megadeth and Lamb of God have announced the second U.S. run of their aptly named “Metal Tour of the Year.” Joining them will be special guests Trivium and In Flames. The Metal Tour of the Year makes a stop at Mohegan Sun Arena at 7:00pm on Friday, May 13th.
Tickets are $79.50, $59.50 and $39.50 and go on sale Friday, January 14th at 10:00am via ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning Saturday, January 15th, subject to availability.
The first leg of the Metal Tour of the Year was one of the first national amphitheater tours to hit the road in summer 2021, and co-headliners Megadeth and Lamb of God hit 29 cities across North America.
“The Metal Tour of the Year is exactly what it sounds like – a night of some of the best Heavy Metal bands in the world – live and loud. Mustaine founded Megadeth more than 30 years ago and pioneered the sound that would become known the world over as Thrash Metal in the process. Megadeth have taken their place as one of metal’s most influential and respected acts – not to mention among its most successful. They have gone on to sell more than 38 million albums worldwide, earning numerous accolades, including a 2017 Grammy Award for “Best Metal Performance” for the title track “Dystopia,” 12 Grammy nominations, and scoring five consecutive Platinum albums. Megadeth are slated to release their 16th studio album, “The Sick, The Dying … And The Dead,” this spring.
Lamb of God propelled Heavy Metal into the new millennium two decades ago with the prophetically titled New American Gospel. They followed with 2003’s As the Palaces Burn, which made the Rolling Stone list of the “Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time.” Ashes of the Wake, released in 2004, was the first Lamb of God album to be certified gold by the RIAA, as was 2006’s Sacrament, which also made a Top 10 Billboard 200 Chart debut. In 2009, Lamb of God released Wrath, their first with Josh Wilbur as producer, and earned the No. 1 album spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock, Rock, and Tastemaker charts, with a No. 2 position on the Billboard 200.

Trivium’s 10th album, In The Court of the Dragon, arrived in 2021. The band and album have been praised by and featured in mainstream outlets like The New York Times, NPR, Forbes, Billboard, TechCrunch, and Kotaku, as well as Guitar World, Revolved Alternative Press, and more. Trivium released the now-canonical album Ascendency in 2003. It was recognized as Kerrang’s “Album of the Year,” achieved a Gold certification in the U.K., and eclipsed sales of 500,000 worldwide. In Flames are less of a band than they are a musical institution in the heavy music world. Since helping create Sweden’s legendary “Gothenburg Sound” three decades ago to their current status as melodic metal monoliths, the act has constantly eschewed trends in order to forge their own musical path. The main event between Top 10 contenders at Mohegan Sun Arena airs live on Showtime on Saturday, February 19th
Fresh off an 87-second destruction of Mark Lemminger in the co-main event of Bellator MMA 266, No. 4-ranked Neiman Gracie (11-2) will strap on the Bellator gloves for the 12th consecutive time when he takes on once-beaten and No. 5-ranked Logan Storley (12-1) in a clash of top-10 170-pounders at Bellator MMA 274: Gracie vs. Storley on Saturday, February 19th at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Tickets are $195.00, $100.00, $75.00 and $50.00 and go on sale Friday, January 7th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster and Bellator.com. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning Saturday, January 8th at 10:00am, subject to availability.
In the co-featured bout in Uncasville, former Bellator Welterweight Champion and No. 8 ranked Andrey Koreshkov (24-4) will return to action and open his 2022 campaign against Mukhamed Berkhamov (15-1), a winner of his last seven contests. The main card will also see undefeated Keri Taylor-Melendez (5-0) compete at flyweight against former title challenger and No. 6 ranked Veta Arteaga (6-4). Mohegan Sun Arena continues to build on a decade of excellence as one of the top venues across the globe
For the first time ever, Mohegan Sun Arena has earned the prestigious honor of No. 1 Indoor Arena in the world for its size (5,001 – 10,000-seat capacity) based on ticket sales. National industry trade publications, Pollstar and VenuesNow, announced the rankings in their 2021 Year End Special issues, which report the top-selling tours and top venues across the globe. Additionally, Mohegan Sun Arena finished the year ranked as the No. 10 venue overall in the U.S. and the No. 11 spot in the world regardless of size.
Pollstar also released its year-end Top 100 Tours chart by worldwide ticket sales. In 2021, Mohegan Sun Arena hosted two tours in the top five (No. 1 Harry Styles, No. 4 Dave Matthews Band) and three additional tours in the top 30 (No. 23 Dan + Shay, No. 27 Machine Gun Kelly, No. 30 Sebastian Maniscalco). TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge headlines Restaurant Week 2022 at Mohegan Sun with a three-course meal for $60! For the first course, guests can choose from a TAO Temple Salad, Crispy Tuna Tartar, Chicken Gyoza, or Satay of Chilean Sea Bass. Second is an option of either Miso Roasted Black Cod, Orange Chicken with White Rice, Lo Mein, or Japanese Fried Chicken. Dessert features, Molten Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Gelato or a choice of Seasonal Ice Cream or Sorbet.
At Todd English’s Tuscany, enjoy a three-course dinner for $55. The first course is a choice of either Caesar Salad or Lobster Bisque. Second is the option of House Penne with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe, Pan-Roasted Chicken with Tuscan Chickpea & Chicken Jus, or a 4 oz. Filet with Shrimp Scampi, Sautéed Spinach, Silk Potato and Demi-Glace. SolToro is offering a three-course meal for $39. For the first course, enjoy Pork Carnitas Flautas with Guacasalsa and Sour Cream. The main course features Duck Tacos with Crispy Duck Carnitas, Caramelized Onions and Fresh Cactus Salad. Dessert is a Chocolate Ganache and Vanilla Ice Cream.
