BALLO Italian Restaurant set to open across from Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria Napoletana next year
UNCASVILLE, CT (December 14, 2023) – Mohegan Sun, one of the world’s leading integrated entertainment resort destinations, is pleased to announce The Shed Restaurant, a new restaurant concept by celebrated restaurateur, John J. Tunney III. This new dining offering will be located in Casino of the Earth, adjacent to Tunney’s other renowned dining offering BALLO Italian Restaurant and across from Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria Napoletana. The 8,100 square-foot space is set to open in Spring 2024.

The Shed Restaurant offers a bright take on American comfort food (including items that are gluten-free, vegetarian, or can be easily modified to be vegan) and features a scratch kitchen with a robust list of specialty brunch, lunch and dinner options—from the indulgent to the healthful. The Shed Restaurant’s enticing dining menus are only made better by the ultra-friendly team and rustic beach-chic ambiance that incorporates warm textured woods, pops of color and intriguing works of art.
Popular menu items include Skillet Mac & Cheese topped with corn, jalapeños, bacon and green onion, Glazed Salmon paired with Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, & shallots, topped with a sweet mustard glaze, and the savory Chicken & Waffles with spicy habanero honey on the side. Festive, family-friendly event also kicks off the Countdown to Cheer program, filled with deals, food & beverage specials and jolly surprises
UNCASVILLE, CT (November 14, 2023) – Mohegan Sun is welcoming the holiday season with the First Annual Sun Patio Tree Lighting on Friday, December 1st. From 5:00pm – 7:00pm, guests of all ages can witness pure magic as Mohegan Sun lights up the night at the newly-renovated Sun Patio with an event hosted by shining star and true American legend, Frankie Valli! Delectable treats and complimentary hot chocolate, tea and coffee will be available. A decadent Baileys Chocolate Cocktail will also be offered at the Sun Patio Bar. Carolers will be on hand singing Christmas classics. Plus, the family can gather for a photo with Santa! This event is free and will take place rain or shine.
After his appearance at the First Annual Sun Patio Tree Lighting, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will bring their iconic hits to Mohegan Sun Arena for “The Last Encores” tour at 8:00pm. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are one of the most beloved groups in Pop music history, selling more than 175 million records worldwide. Known for songs like “Sherry”, “Walk Like A Man”, “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and more, the group continues to tour throughout the US and abroad to packed houses of thrilled fans from multiple generations. The 10,000 square-foot, 300-seat Pan-Asian restaurant is located off of Sky Tower’s hotel lobby and will open its doors to guests today, Tuesday, March 23, 2021. TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge is a distinctive and memorable culinary destination for all guests looking to treat their taste buds and further enliven their evening.

The new restaurant at Mohegan Sun will feature 300 seats and several notable TAO fixtures that guests have come to expect from the iconic brand, including private dining options, the Ink Lounge, sushi bar, and of course the 16-foot-tall Quan Yin statue anchoring the main dining room. In compliance with Mohegan Sun’s elevated health and safety measures, TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge will open at 50 percent capacity to ensure proper social distancing. Hours of operation will be Sunday – Thursday (5 p.m. – 10 p.m.), and Friday – Saturday (5 p.m. – 12 a.m.).
Furthermore, this newest property will continue to sustain TAO’s ongoing support of City Harvest, New York City’s largest food rescue operation combatting food insecurity. Through TAO and Mohegan Sun’s partnership with City Harvest, the organization will continue to provide more than 4,800 delicious, nutritious meals to hungry New Yorkers and countless hours of employment to those in need.
