CES Boxing returns to Mohegan Sun Arena for the first time in nearly seven years with Summer Heat, the latest installment of its 2022 Fight Series featuring two of the sport’s hardest-hitting heavyweight prospects. CES Boxing Presents Summer Heat takes over Mohegan Sun Arena at 7:00pm on Saturday, August 20th.

CES’ newest acquisition, 6-foot-6 right-hander Cassius Chaney of New London, Connecticut, and 6-4 Carini, Sicily, native Juiseppe Cusumano headline Summer Heat in separate bouts. The two CES stablemates have combined for 41 wins and 32 knockouts in nearly two decades as pros and find themselves closer to the dream of competing for a world title.
In addition to the highly anticipated heavyweight showcase, Summer Heat features the long-awaited return of New London female featherweight icon Shelly Vincent, undefeated Irish super middleweight Francis Hogan of Weymouth, Massachusetts, and fast-rising bantamweight prospect Angel Gonzalez of Hartford, Connecticut.
Hogan (11-0, 10 KOs), another recent addition to the CES roster and a member of the Iron Workers Local 7 union, returns after cruising to a unanimous decision win over Rodrigo Lopes Rodrigues in June. The undefeated Gonzalez (10-0, 6 KOs) aims for his fourth win of the year in as many tries, which includes a hard-fought victory over Ira Terry at CES’ April 2nd showcase in Connecticut.
Chaney (21-1, 14 KOs) returns to his home state after signing a promotional agreement with New England’s top promotion, joining forces with promoter Jimmy Burchfield Sr. Born in Baltimore, Chaney was an All-Conference basketball player at the University of New Haven.
Working with renowned trainer Stephen “Breadman” Edwards, Chaney climbed the ladder quickly among heavyweights after making his professional debut at 28 years old, winning his first 21 fights. In 2019, he made headlines on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights with a sensational win over Joel Caudle, knocking his opponent out of the ring in the first round of their scheduled eight-round showdown. Later that year, Chaney captured the vacant WBC USNBC Silver heavyweight title with a knockout win over Nick Jones.
With the burning desire to win a world title, Chaney kept busy during the pandemic, scoring two more knockouts in 2020 and opening 2021 with a knockout win over 18-fight veteran Shawndell Terell Winters in Worcester, Massachusetts. In his most recent fight in December, Chaney fought 10 hard rounds with fellow unbeaten heavyweight George Arias in New York City.
Chaney’s new teammate Cusumano (20-14, 18 KOs) is on a similar path. The heavy-handed Sicilian bounced back in June with a knockout win over Irineu Costa Junior in Rhode Island, earning career win No. 20 and his 10th overall under CES’ guidance since signing with Burchfield in 2017. Cusumano has stopped his opponent in each of his last 14 wins dating back to 2014 and remains one of the sport’s hardest punchers in the heavyweight division.
Vincent’s return to the ring brings additional star power to Summer Heat. The 43-year-old trailblazer and former world title contender boasts a 27-2 record, two nationally televised showdowns against rival Heather Hardy, and a UBF world super bantamweight championship. A fixture on the regional circuit for more than a decade, Vincent is unbeaten with CES in 17 fights, including her most recent win in November over veteran Shelly Barnett.

Mohegan Sun Arena show already features special guest Ingrid Andress
Keith Urban’s The Speed of Now World Tour shifted into overdrive with news that Tyler Hubbard, lead singer of the multi-platinum-selling, record-breaking duo Florida Georgia Line, will join Urban’s fall lineup that already includes three-time Grammy nominee Ingrid Andress. Keith Urban takes the stage with special guests Ingrid Andress and Tyler Hubbard at 7:00pm on Friday, October 21st at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will kick off their 2023 international tour with 31 performances across the U.S., including a stop in Uncasville, Connecticut, before heading to Europe. Springsteen and The E Street Band will perform for one night only at Mohegan Sun Arena at 7:30pm on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
The shows will mark Springsteen and The E Street Band’s first tour dates since February 2017, and their first in North America since September 2016.
The tour will be using Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform for tickets sold via Ticketmaster. Fans can register for Ticketmaster Verified Fan starting now through Sunday, July 17, for the chance to buy tickets. All registrants who are verified will be equally eligible to receive a unique access code for the Verified Fan Onsale. The milestone coincides with the start of the 25th anniversary of Hot Summer Fun
Mohegan Sun Arena celebrated the kickoff of Hot Summer Fun – the start of more than 250 live entertainment events in honor of Hot Summer Fun’s 25th Anniversary this summer – by reaching an incredible milestone of 14 million total guests in the Arena’s history since first opening in 2001.
Friday’s New Kids on the Block Mixtape Tour with En Vogue, Salt-N-Pepa, and Rick Astley isthe first of back-to-back sold-out shows in Mohegan Sun Arena this weekend and was the show that put the Arena across the 14-million mark. Tom Cantone, President of Sports Entertainment for Mohegan, celebrated the historic milestone with New Kids on the Block members Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, and Danny Wood before their sold-out show that evening.
“Every million milestone is a tribute to the men and women who run the Arena and is the reason why so many artists want to come here and even start their tours here,” said Tom Cantone, President of Sports and Entertainment for Mohegan.
Mohegan Sun Arena has hosted more than 14 million guests since opening in 2001, and in this span, 27 major tours have started their tours at Mohegan Sun Arena. In all, Mohegan Sun Arena has been home to more than 3,500 paid events and counting in its history so far.

gaming destination on the East Coast, has launched a new advertising brand campaign titled, “All in for Mohegan.” The campaign’s signature commercial, viewable HERE, takes viewers through the world at play that is Mohegan Sun, and answers the questions, “Who’s in for Mohegan?” and “Why?” Created by Advertising, Design and Digital agency, TAXI, in close coordination with Mohegan Sun’s Marketing Communications team led by George Galinsky and Lindsay Bollenbach, ”All in for Mohegan” will air locally and regionally, which included a spot recently in the Northeast at the start of an NBA Finals game between the Celtics and Warriors on ABC. The spot also aired during the NHL’s Stanley Cup Finals on ESPN.

The “All in for Mohegan” campaign serves as the foundation of Mohegan Sun’s refreshed look and feel for the brand. The spot features Mohegan Sun’s very own Derrick Williams, Director of Transportation. Williams can be seen greeting guests in Mohegan Sun’s Sky Tower hotel lobby at the opening of the spot. From there, the commercial provides a peek into a “friends night out” and where it takes them. When the question of “Who’s in for Mohegan?” is posed, the response is a rhetorical one: “Everyone, obviously.” The group finds themselves taking in a variety of special moments that millions of people experience at Mohegan Sun every year. This includes thrills at the slots and at the jaw-dropping Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook, followed by dinner at Mohegan Sun’s most-popular restaurant, TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge. The action gets started on Monday, June 27th where guests can take advantage of daily Momentum member promotions, thrilling special events, live entertainment in Mohegan Sun Arena, Wolf Den, and more through Friday, September 2nd.
HOT SUMMER FUN DAILY GIVEAWAYS
Momentum members can participate in a new promotion every day of the week! Guests can sign up for Mohegan Sun’s free rewards program at any Player’s Club booth on property.
On More Money Mondays, Momentum members can win their share of $10,000 cash! Every Monday from June 27th – August 29th, one Momentum member will be randomly selected every sixty minutes between 10:00am – 7:00pm to win $1,000 cash. That’s 10 winners every Monday! To enter, Momentum members can play their favorite slots, tables, stadium games or poker games in the Poker Room. All Momentum members must be present to win.
