UNCASVILLE, CT (February 2, 2022) – The Connecticut Cancer Foundation (CCF) has scheduled their annual fundraising event, the 34th Annual Celebrity Dinner and Memorabilia Auction for Friday, February 25, 2022 at 5:30pm in the Uncas Ballroom. This year’s “WIN” Dinner will highlight CCF’s connection to baseball, akin to rounding the bases of cancer and coming home for a WIN against cancer. Featuring NY Yankee All-Stars Chris Chambliss at 1st base (cancer diagnosis), Willie Randolph at 2nd base (cancer treatment), Graig Nettles at 3rd base (financial hardship) and striving for home plate for a “WIN” against cancer – Hall of Famer Johnny Bench! All played in the 1976 World Series! Emcee Bobby Valentine, former MLB player and manager, will add his flair and baseball expertise to this spectacular sports program.

Year of the Tiger festivities kick off on Sunday, February 6th
Mohegan Sun is ringing in the Year of the Tiger on Sunday, February 6th with events for everyone to enjoy. Following tradition, celebrations for the Year of the Tiger include the Fortune God, Red Envelopes, special menu items at Phantasia at Sunrise Square, Jonathan Lee in Mohegan Sun Arena and more!
The celebrations kick off with a performance from Jonathan Lee, one of Asia’s most influential and respected musicians, at 1:00am on Sunday, February 6th at Mohegan Sun Arena. Tickets are $268, $218, $168, and $98 and can be purchased at www.iemshowplace.com or by calling 718.888.3113. Lee will later be inducted into Mohegan Sun Arena’s Walk of Fame at Noon on Sunday. Guests and fans can observe the public ceremony near the box office in front of Mohegan Sun Arena.
Festivities continue with a traditional Lion Dance featuring Calvin Chin’s Martial Arts Academy. The Lion Dance has long symbolized the exorcising of evil spirits and summoning luck and fortune. The performance will start at 1:00pm at the Summer Valet with an outdoor performance that culminates with a firework display at approximately 1:30pm. Afterwards, the Lion Dance will travel indoors and make its way through The Shops at Mohegan Sun. The Fortune God will be handing out Red Envelopes, which signify good luck and fortune, to guests while supplies last.
The origins of the Lion Dance are linked closely to the origins of the Lunar New Year celebrations. It is said that in ancient times, a mythological creature known as Nian terrorized China and devoured its people on the eve of the New Year. The only animal that managed to wound this beast was the lion. Thus, as an attempt to frighten the beast, the villagers decided to mimic the lion with lions made of cloth. In accordance with this legend, the dance is believed to usher good fortune, as well as ward off evil spirits. The Lion Dance calls for perfect coordination, elegance and nerves of steel. Two dancers are usually needed to give life to a ‘lion.’ One controls the movements of the head, eyes and mouth; the other acts as the body. The first dancer directs the movements, while the second works in tandem with the first.
From February 1st-16th, Phantasia at Sunrise Square will offer special dishes like lobster, fish, pig’s feet, vegetables, and more.

Special guests Trivium and In Flames join the co-headliners at Mohegan Sun Arena on May 13th
Following the enormous success of their 2021 co-headline U.S. tour, Metal titans Megadeth and Lamb of God have announced the second U.S. run of their aptly named “Metal Tour of the Year.” Joining them will be special guests Trivium and In Flames. The Metal Tour of the Year makes a stop at Mohegan Sun Arena at 7:00pm on Friday, May 13th.
Tickets are $79.50, $59.50 and $39.50 and go on sale Friday, January 14th at 10:00am via ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning Saturday, January 15th, subject to availability.
The first leg of the Metal Tour of the Year was one of the first national amphitheater tours to hit the road in summer 2021, and co-headliners Megadeth and Lamb of God hit 29 cities across North America.
“The Metal Tour of the Year is exactly what it sounds like – a night of some of the best Heavy Metal bands in the world – live and loud. Mustaine founded Megadeth more than 30 years ago and pioneered the sound that would become known the world over as Thrash Metal in the process. They have gone on to sell more than 38 million albums worldwide, earning numerous accolades, including a 2017 Grammy Award for “Best Metal Performance” for the title track “Dystopia,” 12 Grammy nominations, and scoring five consecutive Platinum albums. Megadeth are slated to release their 16th studio album, “The Sick, The Dying … And The Dead,” this spring.
Lamb of God propelled Heavy Metal into the new millennium two decades ago with the prophetically titled New American Gospel. They followed with 2003’s As the Palaces Burn, which made the Rolling Stone list of the “Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time.” Ashes of the Wake, released in 2004, was the first Lamb of God album to be certified gold by the RIAA, as was 2006’s Sacrament, which also made a Top 10 Billboard 200 Chart debut. In 2009, Lamb of God released Wrath, their first with Josh Wilbur as producer, and earned the No. 1 album spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock, Rock, and Tastemaker charts, with a No. 2 position on the Billboard 200.

Trivium’s 10th album, In The Court of the Dragon, arrived in 2021. The band and album have been praised by and featured in mainstream outlets like The New York Times, NPR, Forbes, Billboard, TechCrunch, and Kotaku, as well as Guitar World, Revolved Alternative Press, and more. Trivium released the now-canonical album Ascendency in 2003. It was recognized as Kerrang’s “Album of the Year,” achieved a Gold certification in the U.K., and eclipsed sales of 500,000 worldwide. In Flames are less of a band than they are a musical institution in the heavy music world. The main event between Top 10 contenders at Mohegan Sun Arena airs live on Showtime on Saturday, February 19th
Fresh off an 87-second destruction of Mark Lemminger in the co-main event of Bellator MMA 266, No. 4-ranked Neiman Gracie (11-2) will strap on the Bellator gloves for the 12th consecutive time when he takes on once-beaten and No. 5-ranked Logan Storley (12-1) in a clash of top-10 170-pounders at Bellator MMA 274: Gracie vs. Storley on Saturday, February 19th at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Tickets are $195.00, $100.00, $75.00 and $50.00 and go on sale Friday, January 7th at 10:00am through Ticketmaster and Bellator.com. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office beginning Saturday, January 8th at 10:00am, subject to availability.
In the co-featured bout in Uncasville, former Bellator Welterweight Champion and No. 8 ranked Andrey Koreshkov (24-4) will return to action and open his 2022 campaign against Mukhamed Berkhamov (15-1), a winner of his last seven contests. Mohegan Sun Arena continues to build on a decade of excellence as one of the top venues across the globe
For the first time ever, Mohegan Sun Arena has earned the prestigious honor of No. 1 Indoor Arena in the world for its size (5,001 – 10,000-seat capacity) based on ticket sales. National industry trade publications, Pollstar and VenuesNow, announced the rankings in their 2021 Year End Special issues, which report the top-selling tours and top venues across the globe. Additionally, Mohegan Sun Arena finished the year ranked as the No. 10 venue overall in the U.S. and the No. 11 spot in the world regardless of size.
Pollstar also released its year-end Top 100 Tours chart by worldwide ticket sales. In 2021, Mohegan Sun Arena hosted two tours in the top five (No. 1 Harry Styles, No. 4 Dave Matthews Band) and three additional tours in the top 30 (No. 23 Dan + Shay, No. 27 Machine Gun Kelly, No. 30 Sebastian Maniscalco). International superstar Harry Styles made his solo debut at Mohegan Sun Arena for two sold-out shows in October as part of Mohegan Sun’s 25th Anniversary celebration.
With one of the most successful years in its history, Mohegan Sun Arena drew more than 450,000 people in 2021, making it the top casino venue in the world.

Mohegan Sun Arena stayed open during the pandemic with a historic Viacom Residency broadcasting live, nationally televised, Showtime sports programming that earned an Innovator of the Year Award from CelebrityAccess. At one time, it was one of the only venues in America open. Later, it reopened to live fans over the summer for events with limited capacity like Connecticut Sun games, private concerts and a Bellator event. Mohegan Sun Arena put on its first live public concert on July 18th with Air Supply and its first concert at full capacity on July 29th with Lady A.
Since reopening, Mohegan Sun Arena has put on more than 50 concerts and 37 sporting events, including award-winning acts like Toby Keith, Harry Styles, Blake Shelton, The Doobie Brothers, The Monkees Farewell Tour, Machine Gun Kelly, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The Arena also hosted WNBA playoff games, comedians like Sebastian Maniscalco and Tom Segura, college basketball tournaments, and the 100th Anniversary of Miss America.
The 2022 calendar already features major, chart-topping artists scheduled to perform at Mohegan Sun Arena, including Earth, Wind & Fire, Tame Impala, Lorde, Justin Bieber, New Kids on the Block featuring En Vogue, Rick Astley, and Salt-N-Pepa, Shawn Mendes, Rod Stewart, and Keith Urban.
